Well, over the past 5 years it appears to be the only thing they have left on their plate - because the Madden game engine is not sophisticated enough to allow any further, meaningful developments.

Locomotion is a BASIC feature that's been around in past games on older consoles and EA are just now writing up code for it for their Next-Gen Madden games?

Hey - I'd more than welcome EA to focus 100% on their actual gameplay engine - but it seems over the past few years that they've either tapped out the engine's potential OR they tapped out their own programming talent/creativity.

Either way, Madden has not grown much at all on Next-Gen consoles, aside from more detailed graphics.

It's just not a satisfying football game.

The same reason George W. Bush was elected twice (well, once if you recount all the ballots).

But I'm not going to start getting into politics here. You get the point.

Some people are just afraid of change - even in a video game.

Familiar, comfortable junk is easier to deal with then new, more-impressive junk. If that makes any sense.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion jvac, thing is,Im very curious to know more about yours. Why do you hate the OPs' idea?

Im just curious to why anyone would have a problem with the game showing actual gameplay the entire time. Maybe Im just an old geezer but I remember back when cut scenes had NOTHING to do with the actual game graphics. A game would show a cut scene and it would look like a movie and then it made the games graphics look worse!LOL

With todays consoles, what the OP is suggesting should be the standard by now, IMO. Animations and cut scenes should be going the way of the dodo and in-game play scenes along with real-time physics should be on the rise. The great thing about BB is that with its tackling, they didnt need animations. The Euphoria engine allowed the tackles to unfold like real life, anything can happen. Does anyone else remember back in the day, for Madden and Bill Walsh college football, you could late hit a player ANYTIME and get a 15 yard penalty? Man,I miss that!LOL It was just great that the game allowed the gamer to have the freedom to get an unscripted penalty back then.

Dont give me cut scenes, give me optional PIP/split screen playcalling view with button options to look at replays in the stadium jumbotron or switch to the POV of the guys upstairs in the booth between plays. For pregame/halftime/postgame, same PIP/split screen with my live locker room, pregame/halftime/postgame adjustments/coach speeches in one screen and the pregame/halftime/postgame shows in the other screen.

What the OP is talking about we should have by now in Madden. Instead, it sounds like something out of a Conan O'Brian "In the year 2000" sketch.

I'm fairly certain that the watcher has made his opinions well known IN PERSON, face to face, with Tiburon 2 years running now.

I think what he's trying to tell us, in so many words, is they HEAR and KNOW what we want, but they are choosing their own direction, as they think they know better than us.

And, obviously, Ian is a HUGE fan of online or head to head....not an offline franchise guy...look at almost EVERY video he's posted about the game. They're button mashing, hurry up and get the game over kind of players at Tiburon, so to THEM, presentation just isn't a huge priority.

They should just make the celebrations button correspondent like last gen was. 3 buttons chose from 3 diff types of celebrations. Player, Team, Crowd/Mascot. Then u hold either L1 for reg celebration or L2 for extreme celebration(ps2) which if u held the button for player celebration would sometimes get a flag thrown for unsportsman like conduct. Thought that was a very good idea and liked it alot. specially on a game winning play. They had like more than one animation for the types, so u didnt always see the same thing

Anybody remember Madden 94 where you called a package, a formation, then a play. the camera would actually show you players shuttling in an out from the sidelines...

If you had the Normal set on the field, you could alternate back and forth from Normal to Hands and your players in each package would go back and forth as if the coaches weren't sure who should be out there... It saw funny, but it seemed to be more realistic than anything we have seen since...

What we NEED is a new superstar mode and franchise mode.
