Personally i think they need to announce something on the defensive side of the ball. Defense in these games is almost an after thought. And along the lines of custom playbooks they need to do a better job making each playbook unique instead of all playbooks with I formation contains these plays, all playbooks with near contain these plays. And defensively there needs to be more plays and more unique playbooks instead of picking a 4-3 or a 3-4 and then getting all the plays from those formations. The Jets and Patriots both play a 3-4 but they dont run all of the same defensive plays. Same for the Packers and Steelers. Everything is too universal in this game and adding more team specific stuff will help with the game feeling different depending on which team you use.

If these were the features they announced i dont know if i'd ever buy Madden again. If they announced something like custom playbooks which is ok and a feature that was in NCAA 3 years ago then i wouldnt be able to support them.

At halftime of the Super Bowl we will be releasing a #madden12 blog, a (shaky cam) gameplay video, and a ~5 min. long #maddenpodcast. Boom.

Choo Choo! Chugga Chugga Chugga ! .. Hype train gettin some steam
I didn't buy Madden 11 after a dissapointing 10, but heres to hoping they get the gameplay on point this year, so i can get back to online gaming competitively, with no cheap stuff.
They must be confident if they puttin out a gameplay vid. either that or they want some OS criticism. Either way I'm readyTwitter - @OtistheOriginalComment

Really? You can say a lot about decisions that are made, but to think they want to make anything other than a fantastic game is ridiculousComment

it's not that ridiculous. ian and the team have got to push their own ideas and those of the community rather than gimmicky ideas that are no doubt handed down from upstairs. they want to put out a good product, but their opinion of a great game may be different from ours, which may be different from the suits at ea. i think this year will be a key year in deciding whether this team is the one to take madden back to its former glory."I hope that someday we will be able to put way our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people." Looking forward to the SB halftime video and info. I know it might not be much. But it's early and it's a start. I'm sure alot people will see the video and start picking it apart like always. But it's going to be nice to get some new info on madden 12. But I'm looking forward to see what they have done with offline franchise mode this coming year. Can't wait.Comment
