NO VOICE ACTORS. I've "Snarked" up the yards enough.

I think it is a mixture of both the tech and the commentators. I personally would rather the voice actor route. Because you could have them record lines for the entire development process could you imagine the level of diversity you could hear. It would be a lot less redundant.

I think "Dan and Peter" sounded much more natural. Listen how natural and smooth the transitions are between each actor. (His custom sounds are horrible lol)

As others have said several times in this thread, the actual commentators are the least of the problems? Am I saying that Collinsworth and Johnson are the best team? No way, but even if you got your dream team of commentators, with the current implentation of EA's in game commentary, its going to feel completely scripted, robotic and wont flow right.

Until they COMPLETELY overhaul the current tech they use for commentary and have used in every other Madden, commentary with never sound as good as it does in the 2K sports games.

the thing about this commentary is sure it is fluid and there is not much dead air, but it just doesn't sound like a sports broadcast. I don't know what it is. It is almost like they are trying to hard that they actually sound fake. Also not enough actual football talk, too many one liners. Light years ahead of what madden has now, still, but this proves to me voice actors are not the way to go.

They do better with dead air, but almost 20 straight seconds of dead air within the first minute shows it has the same problems.

Once the technological issues are solved, this will get better. They certainly have had bigger fish to fry, they'll get there.

Voice actors only if it means they'll be able to use the money they save to have multiple teams.

I don't think having Gus and Collinsworth adds much to the game though. Not like they're a team in real life.

I know I'm in the minority, but was never a fan of Dan and Peter. Just didn't like their voices, to each their own on that one.

Listening to TheWatcher over the years and having Ian confirm it just recently in post #31, it doesn't matter who is in the booth, until they switch the technology and implementation, no one will sound good.

They've already fixed 1/2 of that equation by switching to FIFA technology. Now, it's up to when the implementation takes place.

I didn't like them either, and it made 2k8 impossible to listen to since I knew all the lines and found 70% of them to be beyond annoying.
