Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360)

ok why is there no official ps3 impression thread but yet they closed the person who said it was out. i d not get that anyways here is my thoughts of the demo

graphics amazing the crowd ambience amazing the colors vibrant not washed out not blurry on any of the cutscene. the replays need to be longer
the ball rotates thank god love the camera angles, especially the fg one nice touch.

they seemed to fix the punting bug were the defensive lineman would jump to block the punt even if they were 15 yrds away.

i did see aaron rodgers get sacked get up with a smile on his face and clap to say ok lets get it going now with all this presentation upgrades they need to add a facial expresion rating so that playrs give the right impressions for the right time.

i think with this madden we can finally stop talking about nfl 2k5
im loving the way it flows. im sure i am going to miss some familly time to play this game when i first get it lol

Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360)

Before I get to my pros and cons I have to say this game, to me, "feels" like a game of football. This demo is without question LIGHT YEARS ahead of the NCAA retail build. I am glad I have NCAA to trade in for $30 credit should I decide to get M12. Is it a day one purchase? Not for me. I have learned my lesson from EA and even though this demo is remarkable I will wait a few weeks before "green lighting" a purchase. Now, on to the pro & cons.

        PROS:

*Suction blocking? Almost non existent, on a few occasions I just powered through blockers using Julius Peppers (even pushing a FB all the way back to Rodgers, nice look and feel) without having the worry of being sucked into a OL block animation.

*Graphics/Presentation. Game is stunning and the Presentation is something that I have never seen in a Madden Game. Field/Jersey degradation, Paint/Dirt on helmets and players skin looks fantastic.

*Tackling and Zone coverage is much improved.

*No super LBs that I saw

*DPP is awesome, got to Ryan Grant early and he got the "doesnt fight for extra yards tag". Nice touch I attacked him early and he never seemed to get going.

*Kicking meter is nice. I dont understand why so many are bothered by it. The kicking camera is also very sleek and looks like a real telecast.

        Cons:

*The amount of Big Hits is overdone and actually kind of phony.

*Physic DBs are unfortunately here, but this always been in Madden.

*D-Pad strategy pad is clunky and slow (this can be changed however).

*Player "floating" is kind of cheap, not stopping and cutting on dimes, but guys just seem weightless sometimes.

I cant think of anything that is "wrong" with the game. Barring an unforeseen tragedy in the retail build, this game has the potential to be one of, if not the best Madden we have ever seen. EA really did a great job.

game looks fantastic. This is the best madden game as far as presentation goes. I like how everything is different when you play a new game. 9/10 from me. Now if only they had worked on the commentary that's the only reason for me not giving a 10/10.

I agree that this game, on the PS3 specifically, feels ahead of the retail version of NCAA.

Graphically, this looks much better than the PS3 version of NCAA. It looks up to par with the 360 version of NCAA and that is a relief after the letdown I had when I plugged in NCAA retail.

It feels great, considering how early a build this is, we have a very, very good game of football to look forward to...

So after playing one game I am neither positively surprised neither am I really disappointed. I wonder what build the demo is because it feels way less polished than NCAA. My biggest complaint is that the kick meter sometimes doesn't register my second button press, if that's in the retail version that's a game breaker.
I don't know about the presentation.. Sometimes I think it really shines but often it all looks kind of stale to me. Again I feel like NCAA is better overall here.
I know this is the 360 impressions thread, but are other PS3 owners experiencing really really low frame rates in the automatic replays after plays when the play calling screen is loading?

Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360)

Just played the PS3 version and I have never ever seen more jaggies in my entire life.

                  Cons:
*The camera is WAY to far out now. It is officially a sky cam.
*The field/grass is the worst I have ever seen in a football game.
                  *The crowd looks aweful
*The presentation has moments, but then reminded by a cut scene that wasn't finished(people missing everywhere, etc) It is not complete....just like always.
*The QB's are all super speed. On all pro Cutler ran a 50 yard TD and I couldn't even catch him from starting 5 yards back from him at the 50 with Clay Matthews. He had Michael Vick type speed, with Barry Sanders like vision.
*Madden has officially become NCAA 12. Good or bad, you decide. I didn't like NCAA 12, and wanted a fresh feeling game, not a copy . Why should one buy both, since they really are basically the same game.

                  Pro's
                  *difficulty level feels better
                  *tackles are more smooth
*Player graphics aren't bad if you can get past all the jaggies and terrible looking field.
*game feels different. Not sure it's better, but different.

I think I am easily gonna pass this year. At least until I see it for $20. I don't care if that is June next year to be honest. Really dissapointed with this demo. The real game would have to really be a huge change for me to enjoy it. I have this funny feeling that PS3 users got shafted again with worse graphics/jaggies then the Xbox 360 users. Very sad.

                  Demo Score= C

I can't vouch for the PS3 version (i might download it to check it out), but this exists in the 360 version as well.

Just played my first game on All-Pro. 6 total fumbles (4 for turnovers) and 6 total interceptions (2 by me with Rodgers, 4 by CPU as Cutler).

Special Teams coverage is also a joke.

Super LBs are in the game again. Urlacher wasn't facing me and was running to the left. I threw the ball to his right because I had a guy 5-10 yards behind him running the other way and he just stops on a dime, jumps in the air and picks it. After watching the replay he stops and starts jumping right as my throwing animation starts (the split second it starts) meaning he read my button push rather than the throw.

The Human running game is also pretty difficult. The CPU is shedding their blocks immediately.

Hopefully sliders will fix some of this

A cool little thing I noticed while playing, after scoring a 70 yard touchdown with Devin Hester, in the endzone he made the Miami U with his hands. Too awesome! I skipped '11, so I don't know if it was in there, but it's in 12!

Just recorded some footage of a few of the things that bother me so far in the demo. There's no talking in the videos, just a few 5-10 second clips recorded with my phone.

First, the zone defense AI issues when the QB is scrambling - I sincerely hope they fix that.

Also some footage of passive cornerbacks, which has happened to me several times.

YES, because I have to press A twice for EVERY SINGLE PLAY OF THE GAME I will not buy the game. It's completely ridiculous and could easily be fixed or made as an option.

Still waiting here in uk for PS3 demo, however those people saying the PS3 verison is Jaggie, slower etc etc, have you got newer ps3.

Remember all new games for PS3 will struggle on old version, like La noir which actually fried them as it was too powerful.

Will know more when I get it

If you watch the videos of the recent build of the game, it looks like the game has actually improved quite a bit since the demo. It definitely is more polished when it comes to throwing animations, ball physics, and replays.
