Re: I will admit it getting the EA Pass on Friday
The only way I could see the pass being worth the purchase (people say it's only $25, but I could go buy a used game off of Glyde with that money) is if they released the download around one month early, which would stunt the development of the game early, which would likely lead to more fast-paced sloppy coding, which means more glitches, which means poor final release.
Sorry, but this thing is a complete scam. If EA really wants to make money by doing nothing, they can at least be less blatant and simply release the same video games every year. Oh dear...Comment

Re: I will admit it getting the EA Pass on Friday
From the people that have already purchased EA Season Ticket, can you guys confirm that no matter WHEN you bought it, the expiration date is August 12th, 2012? Can someone verify that with 110% certainty?
If that's the case, what if you miss Madden and NHL, then plan on purchasing it around Christmas? You're going to get 6 months with almost no games for $25? I'm baffled at this offer the more I learn about it.
They should've also had a single game offer for $6.99 or something. At least that would make sense. The only way this Season Ticket will be fair is if they drop the price by $5 after each game is knocked off the list. After Madden hits the stores, it should be $20, after NHL it should be $15. Who's going to pay $25 after Madden and NHL have already expired?Comment

Re: I will admit it getting the EA Pass on Friday
EA Pass is good 08/12/2011-08/12/2012. It states so on the package after purchase even thought I did not purchase until last week.
It isn't 365 days from the date purchased, it's a 365 day pass from the say they launched I believe. You will not get Madden 13 on this year's pass no matter what you do unless they decide to give it to you as a gift.
EA isn't stupid enought to allow a loophole like thta. may as well purchase if you plan to.

Re: I will admit it getting the EA Pass on Friday
If it expires on August 12th, 2012 no matter WHEN you buy it, then yeah, it smells like a scam! What if I didn't even hear about it until October? I'm going to pay $25 having already missed Madden/NHL (two of EA's biggest sellers)? When you purchase it from the store it says "12 month subscription"... but if you buy it in October and it expires in August, that's false advertising. That's a 10 month subscription where you'd already have missed two game releases. Either they have to reduce the price after each game release or change their advertising. What happens at Christmas? You still get 6 months for $25?
I still can't figure this out. lol
I would think it's 12 months from the time of purchase and you get early access to the games listed. If you didn't buy it until December, you still get to try those games you missed the early access on for three days. So yes, you missed out on early access, but EA is not saying Season Ticket is just for early access to games. You also get discounts etc.. they are offering for a full year.Comment

Because Dingo72 said it was from August 12th, 2011 to August 12th, 2012 no matter when you purchase.

Re: I will admit it getting the EA Pass on Friday
In past years, Madden has come out 2 weeks earlier, so they are taking advantage of peoples football withdrawls from the lockout and the season starting only a week after release. It's a genius money making ploy. Hats off to EA.
Obviously some people value $25 less than others, and some people are interested in all 5 games- congratulations to them.
For me, this would only be worth it if it was a full week early. Even then, I don't play any of the other games, so $25 for Madden 3 days early is not worth it to me.Madden 11' Franchise should be
Madden '10 "foundation" + depth of Head Coach 09 = my dream franchise mode.Comment

For some people, like yourself, it's not worth it. For others, like me, it's totally worth it. I try to find NCAA and Madden early every year and I end up paying $20 plus retail each to get the game shipped to me by the Thursday/Friday before release. This saves me the trouble of searching plus saves me money in the long run. It also gives me a peace mind knowing I will get the game early no matter what.
I now will try FIFA, NHL and Tiger and may even purchase those games.Comment

Re: I will admit it getting the EA Pass on Friday
You're incorrect on the 3 day "early access" trial being used at a later date. It specifically says on the official website that "early access" for Madden 12 expires 8/30 6am EST. If you purchase the Ticket in September, you can't download Madden and play it for 3 days. It expires on release day no matter what or when you purchase the ticket.

Re: I will admit it getting the EA Pass on Friday
No problems, just trying to figure all the details out and see if it's worth waiting until purchasing on Sept 9th (day of NHL release), then who knows, MAYBE next year, the ticket will still be active for NHL if it's released at the same time or a little earlier. If it had expired on the same date for everyone, obviously I'd just buy now and use it for Madden too.Comment
