Does anyone know if this is a season ticket version problem ? Anyone with the actual retail hard copy still get the numbers rather than names being called?

I think i read somewhere that it was better in the actual hard copies so maybe a glitch on the download.

I have the retail copy and it does the same thing. We paid $60 or $85 for the season pass folks, to be beta testers.

This actually is to be blamed on the lockout. They recorded the entrances with the PA guy from Tampa Bay and I'm sure it was well before the lockout. By the time Jackson and Rice were on the Seahawks the game was probably already starting to be shipped, or VERY close to it. Those two wouldn't be the main players introduced at 90% of the teams in the league, so I can understand why they didn't record them for intros.

However, names like Mathews, Blount, Tebow, and even the top rookies like Locker & Julio Jones etc.. I have no idea why they aren't in the game, unless those rookies had to be signed and under contract for their names to be in the game. Even with that being said, they still could at least say "Jones" for Julio even without mentioning his first name. With Tebow if you start him, Gus Johnson talks about him and how he's from FL and everything as he takes the field. So I have no idea why his name isn't in there, maybe it is a glitch of some sort.

it does that in the intros as well even if u switch players like take for example the browns the last 2 out are hillis and the starting wr massaquoi it will say hillis's name but will just say and the starting wr no name or number. but even if u switch to a player who's name in game i switched to little because they do actually say his name in game and i still got and the starting wr and no meantion of his name or number.

Scratching my head on this one, they say Tebow for me but they wont say Orton.

Madden is probably the only sports game where I will have the commentators on mute, lol.

It's bizarre; this has to be a bug and one I hope that is capable of being fixed. I tend to refuse to believe that they took out the ability to pronounce some players' names because of the commentary overhaul in M13. I recall seeing a clip of Tebow taking the field... and Gus refers to him directly by name, saying that it's his sophomore season and that he's out of UF. Why would they spontaneously remove the ability to pronounce his name? Moreover, they patched in added lines to M11 about the Breast Cancer Awareness mode. Is it out of the question to get new lines patched into this? Unfortunately, it probably is. It really sucks to hear Jake Locker referred to as #10. I guess I'll be muting commentary too.
The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.

What? Every single player in the NFL as well as CPU generated rookies should all be INCLUDED in the commentary...... There really is no excuse for this, NBA2k has had everyone including CPU generated draft class player names in the commentary for at least the last two years.....

I could give some slack to EA if it was a third string kicker- but Blount, Tebow, and the Julio Jones screw up... I mean come on EA how do you drop the ball on this stuff and thats only a couple of the players the commentary in general this year seems to be garbage.

I read a reported bug that Giants LB Mark Herzlich is referred to as Mark Ingram. Apparently, Ingram has the wrong sound file attached to him (someone here said Lagree) and Herzlich has Ingram's.

Not defending Madden, because that is pretty sad about some of the kinda big names that they don't announce, but there's definitely some names in 2k games that aren't announced. They just did a good job because they have that system where you type in a few letters and it pops up with all the last names that they have on file, but if you put in a name that isn't on that list (some names are, some aren't), they won't be announced.

Anyone surprised? Maybe the dev's thought that if they half-assed the commentary this year then they can come back with a slight improvement over 11's commentary and be like "Wow, look at all the hard work and changes we made compared to Madden 12! We spent the majority of our time making the commentary passable and couldn't add anything else!"

I can't believe how the commentary is so poor. It's like they've done it on purpose so that next year the commentary can be their big hyped selling point.

In madden 08 with Al Michaels and John Madden, the commentary was much better even on the psp! Al would say what formation the offence was coming out in and there was chat back and forth with them. How can it 4 years down the line be so much worse?!
