First Name: Number

Middle Name: Twenty

Last Name: Seven

The reason why they don't say the names has to be because of money, Gus probably wanted too much $$$ to sit in the booth and announce 5,000 names.

I don't think its that, I think its a bug. I have heard him say some of these names before in this years game, like the example I gave above with Mikel Leshoure he even said his first and last name. But I have only heard him say it 2x, the first time I thought wow cool he is a rookie and on IR now but his name is in the game. But now I haven't heard it since that time....

Some of these guys were in last years game so they would already have him recorded for saying their names, so I doubt thats the issue.

This is EXACTLY what i was thinking....and to top it off, the name Ryan is in the game as well....Matt Ryan
So there is NO excuse, has to be a bug.

That the whole name is already in the game thing, they do this right in the EA NHL series. In NHL 2011 I made my be a pro player a center and named him Steve Yzerman to get to play him again on the Wings. (Ironic how the next year he is added as a legend player) His last name Yzerman was still in the play by play name database and it automatically recognized that and while playing the game his name last name was always said by Gary Thorne.

Not sure why the Madden team couldn't get this right. Or again its just a bug that they missed again.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. The commentary is just plain bad this year, but we knew that going in. They were upfront about it

The commentary was bad last year, I get that, but there is no excuse for them to GO BACKWARDS with calling numbers instead of names. Bad is one thing, lazy and going retro 1999 is inexcusable.

Madden's commentary is so hilariously broken that it gives the illusion it was intentional. But that's giving EA to much credit.

Yeah and get this, Gus actually says his name when Tebow comes out and takes the field for the start of the game, after that its just number fifteen

When Stafford comes out they don't say a thing, they just show the overlay thing and no commentary at all. :P

If the on the field game and the offline franchise wasn't better this year I think I would have passed. The presentation is painful. They tried with the camera angles and the pregame as well as the starting lineup overlays and stuff but they failed in so many other ways.

I heard Tebow's name the other day during the game, but the player intros usually say starting QB, and Brandon Lloyd is always the starting WR. I don't get it.

It is a ruse. They screw it up so badly that anything will look like an improvement.

So I was just playing against Tampa and when Freeman came out the field Gus says, "Josh Freeman the 4th year man out of Kansas St......"

Hmm Freeman is only on his 3rd year.
