I dont agree with that. I played Madden every year and graphically and AI wise last gen doesn't compare. Add in all the improvements to franchise and things like game plans (if they work) and custom play books and you can't compare it. I played Madden in 2005 and 2006 and that had as many bugs as 2012 had.
Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?

Bucky...this thread is not a call out for those with issue...I logged in and the first 10 threads were about supposed issues with the game.....I was just thinking after that .....maybe I am the crazy one because I like the game alot...but reading all of this negativity, I was wondering if I was the only one. Some people have legit issues...some not so much.Comment

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
And I say, compared to the advancements that other games have already made, and advancements that this game had 7 years ago? It's not unreasonable to have higher expectations than to just accept what it currently is. And those that do have those reasonable higher expectations should not be called names or called out. If you are fine with madden as is, that's fine with me. But don't talk down to others that expect more, especially when there expectations are reasonable.
It's like, you want nobody to comment negatively on your posts, while some of your posts unfairly blasts others.
Play 2006 Madden and then come back and tell me how 2012 Madden is not light years ahead....worst Madden years ever for me were from 2006-2009..virtually unplayable crap...I use them for coasters today.
I thought they were so bad, I played all of those years on PC and PS2...because those next generation game sucked badly.Last edited by robertw2010; 08-27-2011, 05:26 PM.Comment

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
For those saying that some of our expecations are too high, I must ask. We played better Madden games than this one six years ago, for systems that had lower capabilities than these do.
Is it really to much to expect that they can make a better football game than the one they made in 2005 or 2006? I don't think it is. I can't justify dropping money, especially 60 bucks on something that has glaring issues.
I'm one of those people who can't just sit back and enjoy the game for what it is. Having it be fun, and having it be technically sound are one in the same for me.
This years Madden is better than any Madden that has come out prior. I didn't even like most of them this gen, but this one takes the cake. This one destroys 06 on all fronts. No owners mode? No problem. Franchise mode is actually pretty awesome. Presentation is better, animations are better, graphics are better, and gameplay destroys the old PS2 renditions.
Heck, this game plays better than NFL 2K5, in my opinion, which I would say was the best football game I've ever played until I got Madden 12.Mets//Jets//Knicks//Islanders//Orange//Dodgers//The U//Fl. PanthersComment

"Maybe just Maybe some people need to LOWER thier expectations to some level of reality...its still just a game and will NEVER meet everyones expectations....."
That's saying that others don't have a right to have reasonable issues with the game.
So can't we just agree that people have the right to look past any issues and just enjoy the game, and that others have just as much right to want reasonable issues resolved? Why do we need to blast either?Comment

I like how these threads pop up every single year. Last year it was the same thing. "The new run blocking and gameplanning make 11 the most realistic game ever! Why are people complaining?"
This year its "the suction tackling is gone, offline franchise got some attention after 3 years. I can't believe how much better Madden 12 plays!" Can't believe people are still complaining"
If you can over look the problems and enjoy the game, then go enjoy it. Let the complainers do their thing, madden is better with them. Otherwise just let EA keep telling you how pro-tak is truly revolutionary or having an offensive coordinator talk to you in a headset about how to run a play is a great feature.Comment

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
FIFA is my favorite EA game by far, it's probably the game I've logged more hours on in recent years, regardless FIFA just turned the corner a few years ago, for a while it was virtually unplayable. Once FIFA 10 came around, it had changed the game substantially. NBA 2K11 was great, I played it a lot, but it had it's gameplay flaws as well. Regardless, I'd probably weigh Madden more on NBA 2K11's level than I would FIFA, since FIFA made such huge strides. NBA and Madden are two games that replicate the sports they're imitating pretty well. Madden 12 for me, made pretty big strides from Madden 11. I honestly couldn't even go back and play 11 if a friend invited me over for a game. I expect 13 to be the FIFA 10 for Madden. They've gotten the gameplay down pretty well this year, but if they can get some things in there like double pass blocking and DB/WR interaction, I would be happier than a pig in mud.Mets//Jets//Knicks//Islanders//Orange//Dodgers//The U//Fl. You're being pretty condescending, and by the way those are pretty good improvements and they're paying off big time right now.Mets//Jets//Knicks//Islanders//Orange//Dodgers//The U//Fl. PanthersComment

Now I don't begrudge people from complaining. The forums are here for that if you want to but lets not make it like their complaints actually result in changes.Comment

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
LOL....actually they don't. I don't know what the complainers have done to improve this game. People have been complaining about commentary for almost 6 yrs...it still sucks. People complain about pass interference never being called since last gen....still not fixed. I could give you a list of 10 things that are constantly complained about and EA never fixes them. EA fixes what it wants to fix. Why? Because the complainers keep buying the game.
Now I don't begrudge people from complaining. The forums are here for that if you want to but lets not make it like their complaints actually result in changes.
Now there are things EA chooses not to fix because they fear fixing them would cause a bigger backlash. PI wont get fixed because it would get called most every play. Zig/zag running won't get fixed because they fear taking heat when gamers say the controls aren't responsive enough. That's for another discussion all together imo.Last edited by kjcheezhead; 08-27-2011, 06:01 PM.Comment

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
Well would you agree that pass rushing ratings and blocking ratings mean almost nothing? I mean, I really don't know how the game decides who wins a head to head battle on the line. Doesn't really matter anyway since every player has the exact same moves, and they all stink.
Have you actually played the retail version or are you just going by previous games or someone elses opinion?Comment

Re: Wow...is anyone having fun with this yet?
I disagree. Madden 11 took a lot of heat on forums and on youtube for "bowling pin" tackles and the decision to ignore offline franchise mode. The complaining is want got EA to concentrate on these areas.
