You always backload older players. ALWAYS!!!! This way when if his play seriosuly deteriorates you can cut him and not have to pay him the huge amount owed at the end.

You will always almost want to backload for that purpose and if a player is good then you renegotiate the contract before it is up.

I would only frontload when you have a bunch of cap room, a young team and need to resign those young guys long term while wanting to make sure you have cap room in the future.
First of all...define *older*....if i were to sign an old player...it wouldn't be more then a 1-year deal MAYBE with a team option(dunno if they have that in this year's madden) so frontload/backload wouldn't come into play

Does it really matter? An issue that I've always had with the franchise cap is that I could basically build my team and still have a ton of cap space. It really was never a challenge to build an all-star team, which was boring and unrealistic. For me having to decide to resign and let players go based on cap space (like in real life) would have made my franchise experience better. In all of my years playing Madden I"ve never had to manage my spending, which made it less enjoyable.

Does anyone know how to prompt this? I simmed a Franchise and got to the off-season and I placed bids on Players and I never was given the option to front, back or balance contracts is there a specific thing that I need to do for this to come up? Thanks!

ALWAYS backload, so you can cut them when they decline. Its what they do in the nfl.

After you win the bid the option should come up.
