Yes, you have to actually edit their position, apologies for not being clear.

As you've already discovered, doing so DOES change their overall...either in the positive or negative. When I said Oline is basically interchangeable, I meant that there is the least OVR change when mixing these characters around. Same with CB-FS-SS, OLB-MLB, DE-DT, etc.

I'm finding that out now as im goin through teams alphabetically...For some teams like the Bengals they had the minimum O-Line requirements so i HAD to sign a FA...for other teams like the bills and the browns who had an unnecessary abundance of guys at one position, i released someone and signed a FA to a position that's either lacking or filled with rookies to balance out the roster a bit

are you guys seriously describing something that takes what seems like over an hour of in depth work before I can successfully start a freakin season in my dynasty?

The fear of doing this is why Madden still sits in it's wrapping and is ever so close to being traded in for NBA2K12!

Answer me this...is there anyway to play the dynasty where I can draft guys and the rosters are realistic or is this completely broken?

Also, Am I to completely forget about importing an NCAA class?

are you guys seriously describing something that takes what seems like over an hour of in depth work before I can successfully start a freakin season in my dynasty?

The fear of doing this is why Madden still sits in it's wrapping and is ever so close to being traded in for NBA2K12!

Answer me this...is there anyway to play the dynasty where I can draft guys and the rosters are realistic or is this completely broken?

Also, Am I to completely forget about importing an NCAA class?

depends your level of acceptance for realism.....if u can deal with fake players being generated taking spots of veterans, then go for it....people like me cannot accept this and thus felt the need to tinker with the rosters.... it took me about 5 hours total to complete the whole process: deleting all the UDFA's from each team, making sure each team has the minimum requirement for each position, then re-ordering each team's depth chart....was i happy doin it? not one bit...but i felt like it was something that had to be done...im not an expert on importing draft classes..sorry i cant be of help there

Of course u can play a 1-team franchise but i'd advise u to delete all the UDFA's from all the teams first...that'll take u 45 mins-1 hour tops...im not sure about after year 1...

yea it was def time-consuming...if u wanna do the minimum, just delete all the UDFA's and make sure every team has the minimum requirement at each position

Alright so i did waht was described on the first page. ANd after realzing when i got to the draft is jacked it up and had user settign on all team for resign and FA biddign i had to restart. Well eff me.

SO 2nd attempt worked better my only issues no trades which sucks but i can deal with it. THe other issues and if anyone knows a way around it i would appricate it. During the draft (i love drafting) is there anyway to just draft for one team. I want to draft for my tema (seahawks) but not the others. but it takes forever to hit sim current pick for every other team. Anyone know a way around this?

I haven't gotten to this pt yet so don't quote me on this but imo I think just like in any other situation during the season you can press R3 to get to the Seahawks before the draft and just basically control that teams draft picks. I would think from their screen only (as if you were playing a solo team season) since their selected, you would be able to chose the option to sim till next pic once... Im almost there myself so idk yet.

i think it's worth it....has its flaws but what game doesnt?....gameplay overall is pretty good

Yes, this is what we are describing. Basically, you have four options:

1) Play the basic game, no NCAA importing, etc etc. The game still has bugs, and will cut really good players to keep folks with a 40 OVR, but hey, it's a game where you throw the ball down the field. People like that sort of game.

2) Play the game with NCAA importing but not doing all the things we suggest. Now you've got a few real names in the game (still a lot of made up ones), but you've got kickers being taken in the 1st round, and teams like Carolina taking a QB with the first overall pick.

3) Play the game the way I laid out here. There is a significant time investment, but it's about as realistic as you could reasonably hope for. For what it's worth, five hours seems ridiculous. I can delete each team's UDFAs in about an hour, do the resignings in about two hours, and everything else is pretty quick.

4) Not play the game.

I thought you'd be able to switch to a specific team in the draft...but then I tried it. The answer, sadly, is no. You either sim each individual pick, or sim the whole thing. I tend to sim pick by pick for the first round, then sim the rest and look at the recap.

Not directed at me, but I'll answer: Yes, I think it's worth it. Should I have to do it? Of course not. But without the fixes I've laid out throughout this thread, the game isn't enjoyable to me. I have high hopes for a patch, but I'm trying to be realistic with my hopes at the same time.

yeah i was thinking the same thing but like said above it puts you as the team that is picking... to that sucks but i guess i can live with it, it doesnt take to long it just cuz teams dont make draft day trades anymore.
