    Safe to start a franchise?

Is it safe to start a franchise or should I wait until they announce what will be in the patch? I don't wanna get too involved in a franchise and then find out I'll have to restart. At this point, I will wait on a patch if the UDFA bug will be fixed. What do you guys think?

If you're that worried than start one with a different team. Even if they announce a patch tomorrow it still probably won't be seen for another month.

They're releasing a patch next year called "Madden 13". No guarantee it will fix any bugs, though.

The UDFA prob if you use generated classes can be dealt with easily by using a 32 team chise and deleting all $310,000 contract players the first pre-season. After that, all players are generated anyway.

With NCAA imports be prepared to spend hours each off-season and then stress over the fact you don't have enough players in the FA pool at certain positions late in the season.

But this isn't a bug, it's a hair brained design choice, I do not expect to see patched. They need to bring more players over in the imports to use real NCAA players for the UDFA's and that issue would be resolved.

Franchise is still awful from past years and even worse this year:

            1. I don't get why these created guys show up on teams after a fantasy draft and they cut down the free agency pool.

            2. You add in cut days but can't have a practice squad?

            3. I still can't find constant situational subs. Maybe I'm missing it in the main menus but I don't get why that still isn't in.

            4. Force trading for offline franchises to deal with these dumb UDFA that show up and not have to control every team to do so.

I love how they said this year was going to be the year they focus on the Franchise, yet they just recycled most of it from last year and created more problems in it. This upcoming patch better be great or this game will be collecting dust once 2K12 comes out

Nope, shamefully EA won't release a patch for about 2 months! It's really sad i was enjoying my Miami Dolphins Franchise. I'm just going to buy GoW 3 to fill my time untill i hear of a patch being released!..

You don't have to waste everyone's time by posting in here.

bcuz maybe this way is faster than starting one and then seeing if the issues are resolved or what not

It's not a bug, it's a poorly implemented first-time feature. I'd be very surprised if they're able to do anything about it.
                        Yeah.

Also though another prob aside from not importing more ncaa players is the fact that anyone imported not drafted will be deleted... my uva cb chase minnifield who is the best in the acc will def go pro and was projected to go n/a therefore he went undrafted and was deleted. didn't even end up in the FA. what a drag.

Really? First time I've heard this one before.

You shouldn't have an issue starting a franchise. Patch's since Madden 10 don't interrupt franchises.
