I am a every year buyer even though i know i will complain about every little thing my brother said to me today the reason i stop enjoying them as much is cause i critique every little thing. WHO IS TESTING THESE GAMES some might not agree but i was player allpro football and 2k5 and i must say even back then i like what they did with presentation and the passing game you can actually put the touch you want on your throws and the wholes are realistic Yes it has its moments but its a old game if those games would of stay and got some work done i think ea would pay attention to what we say. Ea just show effort that you care and i wont trip. another thing nhl put in something to make size and strengh matter out of all sports you would think football would be the first brandon jacobs should not get rocked by Asante samuel!!!!! -

^^^^asante Samuel is fantastic at tackling look at his stats. Just because Jacob's is bigger doesn't mean he will run over every little Guy. He doesn't even do it in real life. lolLast edited by scoonie05; 01-31-2012, 11:21 AM.Comment

This is the issue I have aswell and I also have come to the realization that the 'testers' dont play the game the way most of us complain about. Most of us here are online players and for the ones who are not I have something to share with them too...
Online players,
I dont think there is anyone at EA Tiburon who plays lobby style ball or "freestyle". For the most part everyone plays 'football' and dont try that gimmicky crap to break the game to gain an advantage over others. You got guys that go to the community day events at EA and some of them are 'freestyle' players and they do lend some advice towards the game but its too little too late by that time. They go there, figure out these exploits hoping EA listened to fix them, once they get their copy of the game and see those same exploits still exists, they use them and share them online with everyone for a fee. There frame of mind is "hey, if EA didnt fix, then we can use it".
Offline players...
This goes for both sides actually but the battle starts in the trenches and for EA to keep catering to the casuals like they do is getting old with vets who outnumber the casuals sales wise. Want immersion?
How about we have things in the game that trigger actual NFL penalties, for instance illegal motion. When you are playing head 2 head or offline, this should be the case the CPU too. Too many times these guys play flawless on the field "penalty wise" when some teams have led the league as always with penalties per game and whatnot.
When you go to motion someone on offense trying to make something work, you should really get penalized for it in the game if its illegal. The thing is, I dont think any of us here truly knows whats illegal and whats not in the game, if we did, then those same NFL teams who try different schemes and things wouldnt have them called on them.
If you truly want authentic football and we actually get it, I sure as heck dont wanna hear any complaints outside the norm of people taking advantage of programming issues online and off or features and things not working correctly.Comment

Re: Five Things EA Sports must do for Success in Madden NFL 13
You can list a 100 things they need to do to make Madden a Success, but the truth is there is one thing they must do.
Change the engine. Other than this we will be going in circles with the Madden franchise,as we have been for years.
With this engine they can correct the 5 things, but unforatuntely other things get ruined. What I have seen through the years with Madden is a pattern with things being broken and then corrected , but other areas suffer. I also have seen where this engine just can't get certain aspects right.
Just change the engine. Give us something fresh , and that offers more promise in the future. This current engine doesn't offer promise.
I strongly suggest using the Fifa engine. I can see that working out very nicely.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

Re: Five Things EA Sports must do for Success in Madden NFL 13
Generally speaking...
1. Engaged Player Animations (blocking, coverage & tackling)
2. Realistic Foot Planting Animations
3. Signature Animations
4. AI based on real football... assignments, reads, ect, especially on defense
5. Special Teams Focus
Every major complaint I have is related to one of those 5.Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

Madden players have never blocked and tackled players on the same team. I like how people overlook every flaw in every other football game except Madden as if these other games don't cost money. Why don't the people who bought BackBreaker feel like fools instead of bringing it up as the shining example of what Madden should be.
C'mon man...

The main thing I would like to see addressed is the passing game. That is the only major thing for me right now. The commentary is bad but on the field stuff is the big issue. The entire passing game needs a revamp from WR/DB interaction to pass protection to ball trajectory. I like the way the running game works and with the stuff they added with the defense last year, defense plays better also. Special Teams could also use an overhaul so it is an actual part of the game.Comment

I think EA should make Offline & Online to diff games'!!! Like Offline comes on a CD, & Online madden you download Kind of like we had to with NCAA march madness a couple years ago, I feel EA trying to make both parties happy And they fall short every year Due to it....
And i for sure would fire CHRIS'!!!! he is a broke record..BAD...
Tighten the game up, would do wonders....
Pre-game & halftime break down of the team,
JUST MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE TO ARE REALLY PLAYING A NFL GAME'!!!!!
I hope EA has set down and read some of this Threads, Cause we only have 6 MONTHS till Madden 13...Not really that long.....Comment

Your actually saying that back breaker had somerthing in the game that Madden never had, but the truth is it should have.
Just this post season you had the safety and DB of the niners go up for a interception and the Db got crushed by his own man. This can be done in BB , but not in madden.
I can go on and on with different scenarios.
Don't see your point C'mon man.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

As much talk as there's been about DB's making magical catches, and how despreate a fix for that is needed. I feel one thing needs to be added. Or rather brought back and adjusted.
In the past (05' - 08') when you selected a "Smart Route" it was just that, your WR ran a "built in" option route and based upon what he saw or rather thought he saw. On this gen a "Smart Route" is similarly chosen but is decided upon BEFORE the play. Meaning if I show blitz the guy will run a fly route or a slant (good job). But if 2.5 sec later I back off and play insanely deep. Genius boy will run straight down the field and expect a pass to come his way. Unless you were lucky and he choose to run a slant from the start.
IF M13 was to implement a feature where all routes were "smart" and say when in bump and run if the WR dispaches the DB he takes off down the field or where if Vick rolls out to the right his WR's will come to him and "Get friendly with the QB" as opposed to staying on the opposite side where they'll never get the ball. It would go along way towards making the game feel more real, while making the game also slightly "Easier" for the casual gamers as they would feel their ai teammates on the field are trying to help them. While making the game Harder for us. Why? Try picking your "nano blitz" 8 times in a row, and watch every WR start making Wes Welker style plays. 4 steps, cut, catch, run, run far, run very far, score.
It would also make the field seem larger as (depending on Awr. Hey look awareness will actually do something for WR's again!) They'll be more prone to "breaking off"' their scripted route, and likely to do something useful. Like taking off down the sideline when the CB sllips on snow, not running across the middle to the MLB waiting to knock down a pass35 yds downfield that he shouldn't be able to touch.
And will give value and a reason to sign an aging WR like Hines Ward or T.O. Becasue unlike rookies they'll know when to try to make a play.Comment

Wait a minute you mentioned something as if that does not happen in a football game. Players run into eachtoher on the same team in football games. Whether its tackling , blocking or running down the field.

What good is a great mid-air collision if guys don't even recognize who's on their own team?
No wonder the DB's are laying out their own guys.

Re: Five Things EA Sports must do for Success in Madden NFL 13
1) Madden presentation still sucks and they really need too upgrade this. Even though the broadcast cams and intros where nice, it's very boring after a few games played. maybe u guys at EA needs to talk with FOX or CBS about stats displayed and a decent halftime show. Since u took the EXTRA POINT out for 12 and said u would upgrade it, then Madden13 should have a nice halftime package.
2) Penalties: Can u explain EA why there is no offensive pass interference and defensive pass inteference once in 5-10 games? Also u are missing a bunch of NFL Penalties, so u are not true too the game with that.
3) Double-team pass blocking: Can we please get real double-team pass blocking and not just the touching of a offensive lineman in the direction of the DT or DE and just standing there looking stupid afterward. Have them engaging.
4) Please stop having the WR/CB mirror each other when they go for the ball. Can we get a fight for position and attempts too possess the football. The interactions is terrible and needs too be fixed.
5) challenge system is horrible, we need to have a choice on what is being challenge. Replays need too fully play out and not be cut off as well, I have said this for years, Madden seems too always rush replays and other presentation elements. Let them play out and slow the flow of the game.
7 years and counting, can somebody get it close too right over there, how long too we have to wait for a fundamentally sound football game from EA?Comment

good posts and ideas from everybody. But i suspect that this time next year, there will be another post with the exact same ideas. No way will any of this make it into the game. EA is way too fat and happy right now to expend resources to fix a game that they dont believe is broken. remember, the average casual fan thinks this game is fantastic as it is.Comment

Redirect receviers - Press L2/LT and flick the right stick in any direction and the nearest receiver will run as instructed.
Lead Passes & User Catch - By leading a pass to an area away from the defender, a receiver who's route would take him directly into a hit can be lead him away from the hit and to an area that allows him to catch and run.
Hot Routes & Blocks - After a blitz read, in addition to hot routing backs for better protection, we can shorten a post to a slant, a slant t a drag, a streak to a hook, etc. Experienced Madden players make these adjustments regularly as part of their base protection package.
That said - I'd like to see receivers stop and sit in the holes of a zone instead of running straight into hits ALL the time. Those horizontal routes have their merit at times to decoy defenders out of one area while attacking another, but we need a way to tell a receiver to "sit" sometimes and keep running at others.
