That's how I feel. I should NOT have seen that NBA video. That's the kind of level I want football to be at. It's not even remotely close. Absolutely amazing.

So, the embargo on audio has been lifted. Why then are the game changers not chipping in to defend the audio in this clip? Why all the hype for this, any answers?

Alright..i get this impression that some of you believe this is what the final product will sound like. Obviously there are parts in the video where there is absolutely no crowd audio going on while you only hear on-the-field sfx sounds and commentary which REALLY makes it sound more bland than what it really is. There are other portions of the video where you hear it all including the crowd noise and it sounds pretty good when the clip of the video is not abruptly cut off and changed to a new clip. Some of you guys are overreacting here a bit.. not that i blame you but its WIP..clearly.

Its definitely much better than last year..clearly but at the same time you cant judge a alpha product..no way, that's not fair at all guys.

Where i stand..i am happier with what i heard in this short video than i listened to all last year with Madden 12. Will the commentary be on par with say.. NBA2k12 or MLB The Show 12? Well to be fair..they are completely different sports and those other games have had a foundation to build upon in the audio dept.

Honestly i couldn't stand Gus last year..he was the sole reason why Madden's audio last year was the worst i've heard in many years..seriously Gus was totally not good for the game. These two new guys they got in the commentary are two that i can see really get the job done in Madden..

I am not disappointed..nor was i thrown off my chair in excitement..but i am a fair guy and i will give them the benefit if doubt that this rough draft we heard here was simply that..a rough draft but i am liking what i hear so far..

Suggestions:

I would like to hear more commentary as the play "unfolds" but continuously non-stop because right now as it stands..its too subtle...the commentary needs to be flowing during the entire play..not just in bits and pieces, the key word here again is "flow".. Example..if i am controlling the running back ..i'd like to hear the commentary acknowledge "instantly" or in real time when i broke a tackle or stiff arm the defender at the 15 yard line.. then i would like to hear the commentary say "he's at the 10, he's at the 5, he jukes and scores a TOUCHDOWN" ...that is the kind of commentary that should be done in a football game in this day and age.

Not sure if its in there... but when my team scores a TD..and a few other of my players comes to celebrate in the end zone ..i want to hear the player voices celebrating "Good Run" "yeah baby!" "that's how its done baby!",etc,etc ..stuff like that before going to the sideline cutscenes for more celebrations on the sideline.

I am glad to see the cadences in there..it was one of my suggestions a while ago.. in early April..so if my suggestion was heard..awesome but regardless..i am soooooo happy its in there..it really is a little touch that makes a big difference for the audio dept.

sounded terrible. i wonder if that touchdown will change the way the team manages the game from here on out X2, the interception and touchdown calls were not enthusiastic enough

The commentary in NBA + FIFA are now, what I expect a Madden game to reach in about 5-6 years. The progress year to year is not big enough, rather than making solid bases that can be improved upon it seems like the Madden franchise build on stilts and wait a few years until it falls down and then just start again. Solid foundations would help a lot, the same guys could be coming back to expand the audio database so that the more specific lines could be fit in. Whereas I expect in 3 years time, we'll have new commentators coming in recording another 9000 lines and it'll still be just as shallow.

You do realize that it was a video about audio and announcing right? They could have pulled that game footage from 2 months ago and put the commentary on it.

I do realize that , but what else I saw could not be ignored. It distrubed me bigtime sorry but I could not hold back.

Also what your stating is a guess and is just speculation. I have ever yet to see a video show casing one thing , and we receive or see another.

Sounds like the audio engineers for madden blamed Chris and Gus for there poor programing.Now I wonder what excuse they have for this years mishaps.We finally know why you guys didnt release commentary in m12 demo" IT SUCKED". Im willing to bet it's safe to say commentary want be in this years demo as well.
