The run was the best of Brown's career and no one can take it away from him, but it single-handedly skews a stat we like to think of as predictive for NFL running backs. Even when you include the run, Brown's career yards-per-carry average is 4.17. And that's a lot more indicative of the kind of player he's been."

Hopefully this helps.. and if you want it to be fair I say Spiller is a Much better talent than Brown so you might have to offer a lot more.
Yu can twist the stats anyway you want. Spiller hasn't done much for the Bills, he had a good part of a year, that's it. He's not even starting. What trade sounds fair to you?

In the Bills franchise I had spiller was a complete non-factor for me besides punt and kick returns. He could never break a tackle.

Why are you arguing that the guy you WANT to trade for is a bust and can't do a whole lot?

If you're offering Brown to the Bills for Spiller, you probably realize that Spiller is an UPGRADE. There'd be little incentive for the Bills to downgrade at RB, especially an RB who actually put things together when asked to carry the load last year, was able to run between the tackles, etc. etc. Brown has never really stepped up. If you want to make a realistic trade, the Bills would say 'thanks but no thanks' unless you sweeten the pot nicely. A mid-round pick would be for starters, and I think depth at OL would be something the Bills would look for, but unfortunately the Colts have quite likely the worst offensive line in the NFL. I think a 4-3 OLB would make sense, with the Colts switching to a 3-4 and the Bills switching to a 4-3. I'm not talking a stud LB, perhaps just a solid low ceiling high floor guy like Kavell Connor.

Look why those guys were traded. Marshall was a discipline problem, Samuel had an outrageous contract, etc. Spiller isn't starting because he's a bust, he's not starting because Fred Jackson was tearing the league in half before he was hurt. That said, this year he's 30 years old and coming off an injury, so Spiller might be the starter by year's end.

Basically, the Bills have no pressing reason to deal him and he's Gailey and Nix's baby. Brown + some midrounder isn't gonna do it.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

Well, you shouldn't just blindly follow the media. Indy hardly has the worst OL. The media hates on every part of Indy. We don't have an elite OL, but we have a very solid OL. As for sweetinging the pot, yeah, I agree. Brown, a 3rd rounder, and Connor? Keep in mind I expect a top 5 pick.

That'd be fair. I'd probably start by offering a 4th and seeing where that gets you.

                Re: Trade for CJ Spiller

I'm thinking the Bills think Spiller is the same guy the spent the #9 pick on 2 years ago. They didn't draft him to be the the bell-cow RB, they drafted him to be a big play threat from RB, Slot WR, and return man. If I'm the Bills and Spiller still has 3 years left on the deal I'm asking for a high 2nd, Brown, and another borderline starter. Spiller has a Reggie Bush (with Saints) like impact for the Bills and if he becomes the lead back I think he could be like Bush with the Dolphins. I'm not sure Donald Brown beats out Tashard Choice for the backup spot in this situation. I think it would be real hard to get the Bills to trade Spiller in real life, but if you want a fairish Madden trade a 3rd, Brown and a starter could be ok.
