I'm going to have to completely disagree with you on the graphics being consistently praised. I've never seen that anywhere other than OS and other similar sports gaming specific forums.
Ok, we'll I was referring to the sports genre areas.

I agree that the graphics in Madden aren't amazing but "absolutely horrible"? No.

Because I too happen to feel that the Madden player models look like little trolls...or hobbits for god's sake. Listen I dont want to incite a riot here but to prove this point. You need to load up ALL Pro 2K8 (and it would help if you used the NFL roster add on because it will stand out even moreso when you see the player models in NFL uniforms) But its a NIGHT and DAY difference between the player models.

And I dont even think the textures and faces are all that realistic looking in AP2K8 BUT the player models look real natural for football players much moreso than in Madden....Especially when in motion too.

You need to to load both games right after each other and it will be clear as day. And this is against a 6 year old game. So I would have to agree that Maddens player models look and move like crapola

Which is the exact case with Madden, because honestly I think the graphics are great. Cartooney at times, but for the most part it looks good. If they had good cameras angles and zooms it'd look even better.

I've went from a likely buy to on the fence.

Yes, prioritize gameplay over everything else.

Re: Has the demo changed your mind about buying Madden 13?

I was kinda against buying it mainly because of the death of franchise and my lack of trust for any new EA mode(CC) in its first year. But idk I just don't see that much improvement to warrant purchase to tell the truth. Everything felt really light and even though the IE looks REALLY nice its kinda wonky and it doesn't really feel like its affecting gameplay in a huge and significantly positive way.

Turning it on felt stale to. From the player models and movement and the same super generic cyber faces the music that sounds like its ripped out the NCAA series and even though we have the IE you still see a lot of the old animations from the past few yrs.

To me the series desperately needs a new coat of paint and some consoles that offer them more raw power to refine physics and line play and movement overall so with that said I await Madden Next Gen.

Yes! I was going to give it a shot without the import draft classes this year, but I will NOT be buying it due to the ragdoll animations of players looking like they should be breaking every bone in their body each play. Game just doesn't feel right at all on this new engine. It's all good though. Updated rosters I can use right now on Madden 12 and I still have my Import Draft Class! Hopefully they will do better next year.

You leaving out the fact that EA went to the NFL asking for an exclusive deal before the NFL went to an exclusive deal. The current exclusivity came out because the NFL knew someone (EA) was willing to pay and about how much they were willing to pay.

Why are you leaving out EA's part in the exclusive? I blame both the NFL and EA equally for the exclusive eliminating competition.

That's the mistake I was correcting.

                  Now back on topic.

Have you seen the retail build videos? The physics were tightened up quite a bit more and doesn't look anywhere near as bad as the demo. I'd at least check them out before you make a decision to keep playing a far inferior game which is Madden 12.

I don't know man... I can't really see the difference. The games look pretty much like the demo to me, just in snow. I'm not really analyzing, so I may be wrong, but I can't really see that big of a difference. Sucks because I was looking forward to buying Madden this year, but it looks like it'll be 3 straight years that I'll be passing on Madden. But thanks for all of your efforts. You've been a beast at getting content out to all of the forum members.

I went from "yes" to "most definitely" purchasing.

I'm not going to buy the game. Zone coverage, blocking, passing, JUKING, every form of player movement, A.I, cpu cheating, etc. is all broken, the graphics are really ugly IMO and the CC mode has stuff I don't like.

Not news to me. I thought after you discovered all the CC mode stuff taken out, your intent was not buying the game.

I wasn't going to buy Madden 13 but the demo DEFINITELY changed my mind. Not only is this the best Madden ever, it's the best football game ever. They absolutely nailed it.

Is it perfect? No, but it's amazing and they FINALLY fixed the atmosphere/crowd/announcer issues.

Can't wait for the 28th, best football game ever.
