speaking for two of my friends that i had over yesterday..they do not play online and do not have live gold. They stopped by to see the demo run on my xbox...they absolutely loved the improvements and are day 1 buyers now..they were once die hard NFL 2k5 fans and hadnt bought madden in some years..this will be both their first time buying madden in years...they were really impressed with how much madden seemed like a mix of madden and 2k5 overall..

To be honest what did it for me was when I threw the ball for a HB screen pass and the DT read the play and somehow without looking back reached out with one hand and intercepted the ball I was like, forget it.. I mean the DT caught the ball with one hand like he was a WR and then ran it all the way for a TD Really??? It's another typical EA sports Madden football game.

The game plays way to much like previous Madden games.. As much as Tiburon tries, they just can't get this game right! What really amazes me is how a game that was released 5+ years ago still outdoes this Madden game?? 2K sports did things back then that tiburon has been trying to do even now, but still can't?? How does that happen?? Did 2K have Genius or rocket scientist for developers?? Someone please make understand, cuz I just dont get it... Don't get me wrong I know Tiburon is trying their best, but how does 2K sports get it so long ago but EA sports can't even now?? Idk...
I've probably decided NOT to get the game based on the demo. Was talking with my brother, who has also played a lot of NCAA lately, and we agree that the passing and AI improvements make that feel like a more advanced game. You can actually read defenders for where they're going in that game. In Madden, they still have psychic abilities and eyes on the back of their head!

Also, while the presentation was interesting, I actually didn't like the visuals. The player models looked off (giant helmets and jersey numbers) and there were lots of jaggies with
muddiness when you are zoomed out. Was generally not impressed.

I went from "on the fence" to probably won't buy after a couple games. Then I played a few more after changing the game speed to slow and some slider tweaks. Now its a day 1 purchase.

I can't explain it, but Madden 12...too me, seemed just a little bit smoother. It may be due to the sliders I downloaded. Anyway! I had planned on buying it anyway, and that has not changed.

I was a definite buy as I always am, but I'm really really dissapointed in this demo. I honestly think I might pass this year. I have been reading a lot of these posts mans I'm seeing a lot more dislikes than likes for this demO. My question is really for the game changers ,particularly the ones who attended the community day. How was there such a overwhelming wow from you guys, and such a negative response now? I get it some is just negative for the sake of being negative, but a lot is really justifiable dissapointment. What happened to 85% of everyone loving it? Where's the game of the year talk that dominated June 4? Not trying to be disrespectful but I'd love to know what some of you guys see in this that you are so pleased with. Thanks.

              Super LBs gone!

              Phsycic Dbs gone!

              Passing game is improved

Animations feel more life like than they have been in years

Most of the freestyle gameplay is not there anymore but the jury is still out

Presentation is better than its ever been and making nice strides for future maddens

Just seems like this team is really on the right track and I can't be mad, first time in a long time I can honestly say that I'm excited for next year and this madden isn't even out yet. Line I have said before, I'm looking for perfection, just wanting to have the game play close to what we see on Sunday and I feel next ten will deliver that in spades after playing this demo.

All that stuff you are noticing is esthetics. So it looks prettier. I can still run an HB slam and get the same yardage running it the same way. All the passing plays are the same, no difference from the DB interaction. I can still run a cross route and complete the same percentage as before. It looks better but the gameplay feels exactly the same.

I was prolly not picking it up but after playing the demo I will definitely get it.
Presentation was vey nice, gameplay felt right and the graphics just blew me away.

I get all that. Glad that stuff is gone. But, the "step in the right direction" sentiment is troubling to me. Didnt we all say that about Madden 10? How bout a home run out of the park rather than always just hope for the future?

I'm confused on how people have so many complaints about the game for years, but still say they are going to buy it?

EA is still getting your money, for a product you deemed bad? where is the logic in that?

I think some people buy it just to complain about it or they just don't want to be left out

                        Not at all.

Pre-ordered in April; keeping my pre-order. While not perfect, the game seems much improved to me over the last few versions, based on the demo. Looking forward to playing the retail version.

thats all very nice for the offence, if they havent figured how olbs cant get pressure on your D in a 3-4 etc etc. football has 3 sides, making 1 slightly better wont please all.

my other problem is the things that were dropped, editing/playbooks. ea shouldnt assume everyone is going to be happy

I can't speak for everyone, but I've noticed my OLB's getting more sacks this year. I get sacks almost every game with Aldon Smith, Ahmad brooks, and Orakpo.

LOL I have a feeling it will be more of the same. We go through this every single year at OS, especially in the last seven years since Madden became the only game in town. In a month, there will be countless threads about how this is broken, how that is broken, how this needs to be fixed, etc. Once again, I'm choosing to save myself the headache and pass on this trainwreck while I'm still able to make it out alive.
