Re: Connected Careers vs Franchise Mode?

    Game play is fantastic.

As a sim player, the CCM is not an improvement to the old franchise mode.

-No transactions log (the twitter feed, although cool is not enough). Doesn't help immerse myself into the league..
-For me, i loved being able to see the "player card" easily throughout every screen (depth chart, career stats, injuries, in game). That is only accessible through the Rosters sub menu now.
-Furthermore, you cannot see team history in a players card. after a players career, i like to look back on their career and where they went and ect.
-Not sure if this is just me, but i cannot simulate CPU vs CPU games during the current week (which i rather enjoyed doing.)
    - Team AI is ******** as far as rosters go. Panthers sign tolbert and Grant,.....!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I really liked the last years franchise as far as non gameplay was concerned but it seems like im one of the few

exactly. Its a video game not real life so why can't we play the way we want to play?

Neither is adding XP to players or the horrible regression of RB's. Dont cherrypick what you view as sim.

with the right XP, when its tuned perfectly, it wil lbe amazing. the system is just fine.

it beat some determined by donny moore potential rating that can only be changed by cheating the overall in edit and returning it back to the previous overall. now that edit is gone, this took that away.

stop hating ccm for being so awesome, a lot of its issues were just as bad or worse in franchise, they will add your concerns. so lets focus on those, and not "ccm sucks" because that is not the group opinion. IMO its an awesome mode, a great idea, that with time will become great.

Why does everyone worry about the ccm vs franchise mode. The real problem is not haveing a coop franchise or ccm!!! it alienated half of its gamers

I know im just saying people consider different things sim.

XP isnt sim for to you perhaps but i like how it can simulate players working on certain parts of their game.

Re: Connected Careers vs Franchise Mode?

The 'sim' tag being added in support of various viewpoints is pointless in my opinion.

A game series which has been around for almost 25 years and sells units by the million should understand something very obvious about their customer base - there is massive diversity in terms of gaming preferences.

If you don't want to change strips because it ruins the immersion for you then don't use that feature. If you don't want to edit rosters then don't use that feature. If you don't want to control 32 teams then don't select all of them. However, if you do wish to do any of these things then you should be able to do so.

My preference; I like playing co-op season/playoffs with a couple of friends. Sometimes we alter the roster stats of a poor team, normally making the OL slightly better so that we can ENJOY playing with different teams. Often we'll relocate the team to Alaska for weather reasons and, for visual reasons only, we like to mess around with strips so that we're clearly distinguishable from our opponents. That's pretty much it for me.

However, do I think Fantasy Draft should be brought back (an option I've never used and never intend to)? Well yes I do because clearly a lot of people have enjoyed this in the past and that's what video games are for - enjoyment!

The overall message is clear to me: GIVE GAMERS THE OPTION TO ENJOY THEIR MADDEN EXPERIENCE IN WHICHEVER WAY THEY CHOOSE.

I think they're going to plug in the editing function on CCM at least. That should make people happy.

Can anyone tell me if there are greater than 55-man rosters during preseason (and cut days) this year in CCM?

yes expanded rosters for preseason and cut days are in. but you have to manually bring players in. no random udfas this year.

This game is built for career mode. If changing uniform of your opponent is more important to you then that's fine... But in all honesty, that's the least important thing to most folks. Yes its a nice added touch but a reason to get bent? Come on now.

Am I bent? No. Do I like the idea of EA taking out options a lot of people used, enjoyed, and we're accustomed to? Absolutely not. Gameplay is king, but why take out a season mode? Why in 2012 are game companies giving us FEWER features? We should be able to have a lot of control, not having it taken away.

Is this really asking a lot? You act like we're asking for the moon. If people wanna change the CPU uniforms, let 'em. EA hand wringing over realism all of the sudden kinda makes me chuckle. Where was this emphasis the past six years?

Let's see...you want great gameplay, and complete control of everything and a better franchise mode. When is this going to end. If you're not happy, trade it in, but continually complaining on here, is doing nothing. If EA was more active in this community, I can see it, but they're not. Play CC how it is, or don't. Simple as that.

Completely misrepresenting my post. Anyway, I fail to see how anything I mentioned in that post makes you think I want to trade it in. Im simply and politely expressing my views and nothing I am asking for seems out of bounds or out of the capabilities of EA. Is it too much to ask for them to just keep in some things they have had for years? I don't see why you guys feel we're being unreasonable.

I actually don't have an issue with XP. The problem with ur statement is that you picked out things that you viewed as sim but the logic you used to do would disqualify everything you suggested was sim.

What is up with the depth charts? There's a huge difference between when I'm in the depth chart in the ccm menu vs when I go play a game. Tons of guys with 5-10 point differences in overall
