U see how the players are reacting to the ball carrier and his moves?

Thats all I want, my heart skipped a beat thinking you had something new on the next madden in there, but it was nice to see that!

And look at the block at the bottom/left of the screen. Engaged mobility like that is so necessary. Doesn't look like the o-lineman was driving the defender that way. Either the RB influenced the d-lineman, he was protecting his gap or both.

Everything in that gif looks great. The engaged mobility; the LB/DB coming up, being influenced by the RB then cut off by the blocker; the animation of the 1st defender wiffing; the 2nd defender off balance; the tackle; the RB footwork throughout...

      Gorgeous game!
Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?

At this point, you could play Madden 1000 times and not replicate one play that looks so smooth and realistic. Madden is incredibly robotic at the moment....

First off, better line play would mean a very different passing game. Ultra deep drops would cease to make sense, because your OL can't keep up with speedy blitzers in that scenario. That's why NFL QBs work from the pocket. You'd also have to be more careful running with your QB, as DL wouldn't be involved in an animation, they could disengage and hunt you down faster.

Line play is also key to making any sort of read option play feel realistic.

The very name of the play indicates the importance of being able to see what the defensive end (or linebacker) is doing. Right now it's just- lines mash up, invisible die rolls are made - ta-daaa! a defender is free or not free.

It'd be a lot more fun to play d-linemen, too. And plays that involve stunts and crashes would be more interesting. Right now stunts seldom work the way they should.

Line fits would also make the LBs play more accurately, and clarify the run game. Right now, the play diagrams really don't match where running plays work best, because the line fits aren't right.

This is what i dont get. Nothing about the 2 cuts made looks long or drawn out for the sense of realism. The cuts are crisp fluid and realistic and it still seems like the user is very much in control. How come we cannot have that in madden?

Because Maddenball is the game we deserve, but not the game we need.

IIRC there are certain instances in 2k where it's obvious there's a lack of control (e.g. qb reacting to defender even though he's blocked, inability to sack qb because of continuing animation to shed block, etc.) but from my perspective none of those are nearly as rage inducing nor common as the alternative.

OL/DL play could make it more difficult to drop an obscene amount of defenders into coverage because running the ball would be more fundamentally sound, as well as offenses not being so free to ad lib with the a User controlled runner on run plays because the blockers will be adhering to the play art.

These are the type of things I am hoping to see expressed and discussed ITT.
this is 1 thing that i personally feel doesnt get talked about enough.

imo alot of folks are cheesing on defense, because they know they can bring everybody to within 5yrds of the LOS and still make it back to play the deep ball. i feel like cheesing gets talked about alot of offense; but imo just as many players you come up against are cheesing on defense.

if the highlighted part was fixed i believe it would bring more strategy back into the game. as it stands, i feel there is very little strategy or gameplanning invloved in user vs user games.

mostly to me, it boils down to who has the best stick skills. alot of folks, myself, included feel that the game is geared towards the player with the better stick skills having an unfair advantage. 4ex. alot of folks w/ exceptional stick skills will just overload the box so that you cant run the ball and then use their stick skills to intercept the ball.

better player movement would bring a more equal playing field to the more "strategy player w/ decent stick skills" such as myself. the user who more through scheme, gameplanning and in-game adjustments can put their players in positions to win matchups. the problem is that with the current player movement, the guys with the uber-stick skills will just override all that previously mentioned strategy with their stick skills.

so in summary i think that better player movement would go a long way towards helping to bring a more balance experience between the strategy guy and the stick skill guy.

couple of other things. i think the game needs to do away with the sprint button; or atleast it needs to be completely overhauled. and taking away the sprint button, like in M10, and having player simply sprinting all the time i dont feel is the answer either.

                  -------------

far as the ol/dl. 1 of the main things i would like to see get fixed is the way the OL doesnt get to the 2nd level to make those critical blocks, especially against LBers.

its mainly a problem out of 1-Back uc-formations. it can be somewhat minimized by using a FB, but since almost noone uses a FB on regularl basis in the nfl, i feel its something that needs to be addressed.
