I among others have been calling for more realistic trench play for years, hopefully this is a step in the right direction. I like the DE's getting up the field. I'm hoping to have the option to double team someone on the defensive lineComment

Still so much wasted motion by the pass rushers ...these odd angles waste crucial seconds while the QB is in the pocket...Comment

Really, 60 decisions per second?
Sounds a lot like " we added over 400 new catch animations" of which only 5 ever triggered.
C'mon man!
Does look better, but only if you don't look too close.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Next-Gen Gameplay Trailer and Four More War in the Trenches Videos
I think my overall impression is that it looks solid. Yes parts of it looks current gen. But the overall game looks solid to me. While I want some real time raw footage. I'm happy with these videos for now. I know you still got some sliding from players and all, but it ain't going to be perfect. I love the way to the pocket forums better and I love the oline/dline interaction. I still want to see how the WRs and DBs interact tho. I want to see if the DB is still mirror imaging the WRs routes before the WR goes into their own route. But overall I'm excited about it and I'm ready to get it next month.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Next-Gen Gameplay Trailer and Four More War in the Trenches Videos
I am with you 100%. Expectations for EA are so low that when they do something slightly right better it is cause for celebration. Line play should have been improved YEARS ago. And now that they completely ignored the improvement on current gen they are flaunting it for next gen. But these videos had both positive and negative in my opinion. The positives are that madden seems to FINALLY be taking a step forward. The negative is that EA is finally taking a step toward catching a game that was released six years ago with a limited budget (APF 2K8). Most people in this thread have been talking about the QBs throwing mechanics and how they hold the ball but the problem I have is that all of the QBs are throwing with a velocity like Brett Favre. And the lack of trajectory on passes is still way off. And before those people address me with the "wait till next year comments" I will tell you that I have been waiting. Very patiently I might add since I first bought my XBOX 360 and I didn't buy Madden for the fist time in about 8 years this past release. I wish I could play an NFL game that feels like real football but until then I am playing All Pro Football. It is the most complete football game from the last generation and I will advise it to anyone these days. Especially since you can buy it for like $2. I am happy with the steps Madden is finally taking but unhappy with the current state of the franchise.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Next-Gen Gameplay Trailer
Having looked a little closer, pay attention to the feet of the DE's. They look like they are on a treadmill at the snap of the ball, most noticeable when they slow down the footage of Russell Wilson in the pocket. Does true-step only apply to offense? Does it not kick in until the animation of firing out of their stance ends? A little concerning to me.Comment

That said, they've kept my interest enough with today's vids that I'm leaning on keeping my preorder.

Even the deepest 2K stans have to give props to those blocking videos.
Yes we find flaws in everything (including the 2K Next-Gen trailer), but EA sold me here."It's quite frightening to sing "Who's World Is This?" without proper enlightment"

Re: Madden NFL 25 Next-Gen Gameplay Trailer and Four More War in the Trenches Videos
Yea I saw this even tho it is kind of hard to see it since the cam is focus on the oline/dline mainly. I think they are heading in the right direction for the next gen. Will it all be perfect? No it will not. But at least EA is starting to try and get their act together. These videos show that. It just takes time. Rome wasn't built a day. While yes some of these things like double team blocking and better line play should have been added years ago. Like the old saying goes "Better late then never". But overall the game looks a little bit better then current gen.Last edited by PantherBeast_OS; 10-18-2013, 08:36 PM.Comment
