    Re: Just read and you'll understand...Real NFL...regarding stats..and gameplay..

Been following this thread since the beginning, but haven't really paid attention to the newest set, since I only play one season in franchise a year. Being that these were created strictly for online CCM, I didn't really feel the need to start a season so early in the year. When I found out that Quan didn't release a Play Now version of his newest set, I kind of stuck M13 on the shelf until EA patched the Play Now logic.

With that being said, I was up super late last night (for a work night, that is), so I decided to pop in Madden to find out how the new patch worked out.

It was nearly 2 AM when I finished the game, so I don't have too many specific stats, but here is what I do remember. Keep in mind, this was done in Play Now mode.

    NYG (CPU): 10
    SF (ME): 26

    Pros:

*CPU run game was nearly perfect. The Giants used a combination of Bradshaw and Ross pretty effectively. They ended up running for 124 yards on 31 carries for an even 4 YPC. There was good variety in the run game. Stops for losses, short gains for 2 yards, decent gains for 4-5 yards, and Bradshaw broke one long run for 31 yards. It was definitely nice to see. The reason why this stood out to me so much was because I remember playing games in Play Now when the game first came out with these and other sliders, and the CPU run game was nearly impossible to stop. I was extremely pleased with the results.

*Good pressure on both QBs. The Giants and 49ers have arguably two of the best defenses in footbal. I was able to get pressure on Eli in a variety of ways for a total of 5 sacks. Ahmad Brooks just OWNED the Giants right tackle. He had 3 sacks on his own. Had a nice blitz up the middle with Pat Willis for another one, and Justin smith had one as well. It was nice to see sacks not only from a good pass rush, but two of them were coverage sacks as well. The Giants had 4 sacks on Alex Smith. Mostly because of me not recognizing the blitz or holding the ball too long. Still, really nice to see.

*Solid play from CPU QB. Eli had a decent day. I think he threw for about 225 yards and 1 pick. His completion percentage was a little on the low side (57%), but I chalk that up to the 49er defense. I use Gameflow to keep things interesting, and I only change the play if the gamplan playcall doesn't fit the situation. The Giants had some really good drives. They had a drive in the first quarter that spanned 13 plays and 8 minutes off the clock. I came up with a big goal line stand to hold them to a field goal. The Giants ended up winning the TOP battle by about 5 minutes, IIRC. The coolest looking play that I saw from Eli was in the fourth quarter, when the Giants were in full on passing mode. I got a great pass rush and flushed Eli out of the pocket to the right. He made a throw on the run to Victor Cruz on the sideline to stop the clock for a 30 yard gain. By far the coolest play of the night. The only reason why his completion percentage ended up being so low was because he was forced to pass for the last 5 minutes of the game. Before that, he was hovering around 62%, which is right where it should be.

*Challenging passing game for the human. I had a tough game with Alex Smith. It may be because I haven't played Madden in over a month, so I may be a bit rusty, but my completion percentage was about 55%. Granted, I took my shots down field (to no avail) to keep the defense honest. I didn't want to just work the middle of the field. One thing that I did notice with QB accuracy being at 8 is the fact that the timing between the QB and the receiver needs to be spot on. I had a 3rd and long in the third quarter, and I had Moss wide open on a deep out route. I threw the ball a little earlier than I should've, and of course, it ended up as an incompletion. I know that had the QB accuracy been higher, this would've been an easy completion for a first down. I also threw a pick on a really bad decision on a deep comeback route for Moss. The CB jumped the route, and he took the pick back to about the 5 yard line. That led to the only TD on the day for the Giants (Ross run). Coolest play on my side was on a 3rd and 17 in the first quarter, I ended up throwing a TD pass to Vernon Davis up the seam. The Giants called an LB blitz, which left Davis 1 on 1 with the safety, I threw it high for Vernon to get it, the safety jumped to try and pick it and MISSED! Easy completion to Vernon for 6! Didn't look cheesy at all, either. The safety had a play on the ball for sure, but mistimed his jump. Made for a pretty cool replay. Alex Smith ended up with 225 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 55% completions.

    Cons:

*Human run game WAY too easy. This was something that was pretty bothersome. I ended up finishing the game with 175 yards on 27 carries with Gore. Yes, he has the capability to do that, but that seemed a bit excessive, especially against the Giants defense. My O-Line created GAPING holes for Gore seemingly on every play. We're talking consistently getting 6-8 YPC on every running play. I'm going to play a few more games tonight, and I hope it gets better.

*Lack of subs for the human RB. Obviously, the running back position is one of the most subbed positions on the field. While I saw a really good mix between Ross and Bradshaw on the Giants, there was almost no subbing on my end between Gore and Hunter. Gore finished with 27 carries (which he rarely ever does anymore), and Hunter finished with only 5. That's not an appropriate ratio at all. In my opinion, this is something that needs to be fixed.

*Lack of penalties. There were only a total of two penalties called in the game. One for a false start, and one for a holding penalty. This might be something that needs more of a sample size, but that's definitely on the low end for a 60 minute game.

I know how much Quan emphasizes not making any changes to the sliders for fear that the gameplay will be negatively affected, but there are a couple of things (particularly auto-subs and penalties) that I feel need to be addressed. If I understood correctly, the patch has fixed the logic between Play Now and CCM, so that they should play the same. Therefore, even though these sliders were originally intended for online CCM, we should be getting the same experience in Play Now mode with the newest patch. Again, I will play another few games tonight to see if there are any trends, but overall, last night's game was the best that I have played since purchasing the game.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

Hey thanks a lot for the awesome feedback, I was anticipating me having to possibly overhaul this set but as anyone can tell on here I have been pretty busy which has kept me away from here. Sorry to all who have been asking questions or concerned as to any updates I would possibly be making. Personally I would like to thank you for still trying these out and testing it with the new patch and though it sounds like I may need to tweak I would greatly appreciate if you and anyone else still interested in using this set to test them out and see how they hold up with the new patch.

I have a lot going on right now and a lot of life changes so once again sorry to all who are hoping for an update to keep the awesome set going, I will eventually update these but as to when this will happen I can not exactly say.

For those who wish for me to update these sooner rather than later I will say that if given enough feedback at this point it may be enough for me to tweak this set without too much of an evaluation as I honest just do not have the time to do it. Thanks again to all.

        Re: Just read and you'll understand...Real NFL...regarding stats..and gameplay..

Haven't gotten the patch, never do as they usually break things to fix things in patches lol. But this set with the right set of house rules makes this game play awesome. Had this awesome game against the browns using this set. Both of us struggled to really do anything in the first quarter, ended up being 10 to 10 at the start of the second, then their quarterback Tindle Bree threw three short completions for a first down then a long bomb to the right sideline to some no one receiver. 2 plays later scores off of playaction pass to the TE. 17-10 and halftime

And behold kickoff and my dude Kenny virgil who is an awesome return man fumbles first thing out the gate, they pick it up and run it down to the 12, 3 plays later score on a run from their rookie back score 24 to 10. So hella lookin bad at this point haven't been able to do much really on offense so i decide to take the slow approach rather then just tryin to score the homerun on ever other play. dink and dunk myself down the field and kick a fieldgoal score 13 to 24. Nervous at this point but my D been holdin on pretty good with the exception of 1 drive. Luck would have it 3 and out ended by Aldon Smith with a sack. I get the ball back and do the same thing, same result score 16 to 24. Next drive for the browns same thing and next drive for myself the same as well field goal 19 to 24 browns still up.

At this point we're in the fourth quarter and I'm getting pretty anxious, browns get the ball. Tindle Bree then comes alive and throws yet another bomb to the same nobody receiver. they ended up scoring the touchdown on the next play via screen. score 19 to 31. Wow so i am now in pass mode with 5 minutes left, game on rockford odoms arm, all on the line ready to show that he can be clutch aaaaaaaaannnnddd 3 and out lol. I punt the ball and they end up getting a decent return to my 45. At this point I'm almost sure they are going to score atleast a fieldgoal and first play he hits his receiver over the middle about 20 yards and my safety ihunwoo smacks the crap out of him causes the fumble recovered by the now 15 year veteran willis.

Second chance at glory if I ever saw one. But I've had like 9 passes in a row at this point. King Collins been shut down to the tune of 52 yards on 19 carries but i decide to try it out, haven't tried it yet and had pretty much forgotten about it all game. Line up in shotgun tightend on the right fake the ball to king and keep the ball with odom, GAPING hole downfield block set up by gilbert black and leroy bolton. take it to the house 70+ yards touchdown score, went for two on king collins pitch and got the score 28 to 31. Here it is, need that three and out, 2 runs and an incomplete, I get it and I'm excited. There's little over 3 minutes left in the game and I'm on my own 34. two plays, both to my second receiver marcus wise and i'm in enemy territory at their 33 I hurry to the line to get a play off as i was short on two timeouts due to a missed challenge and one to rest my offense. I throw it deep to Gilbert in the endzone on pretty much a throw away play since he was one on one and i threw it off toward the sideline, he jumps up and makes this crazy one handed grab score 35 to 31 9ers finally up!!

But Tindle Bree just wanted my day to suck lol, hit a medium pass hurried to the line and threw the bomb...............caught by that same nobody!!! still don't know his name lmao, I'm like whatever just stop em for a fieldgoal they need a touch. Next pass they throw incomplete but......roughing the passer and their at my 9. Tindle gets hurt on the play. A little relief and next play i get a sack. they hurry to the line and throw incomplete. 22 seconds left on the clock and they on 3rd down no way their gettin it right???? FML receiver corner of the endzone no one around him OMG!!!!! score 40 to 35. 16 seconds left and the return so there's 10 seconds. I Hail Mary but no magic was barely at my 28, end score browns up 40-35 great game even tho I came out on the wrong end of it.

Note I'm really deep in my offline CCM so that the reason for all the generated players lol.

          Hey Quan,
          I'm really enjoying these sliders!!!!
Problem is, I don't really have enough time to play 15 minute quarters.
Any chance you can create a set for, say, 8-10 minutes quarters.
I know you are busy and all, much appreciated if you can do something.
          Thanks!

im sure it wouldve been more of a game but i knocked Peyton "The Sheriff" Manning out of the game on the 1st play and now he is out in my offline CCM for 5 WEEKS!!!!

but overall it was a pretty sick game even though it was a blow out. at one point i was out of my seat because a catch that Emmanuel Sanders made...Big Ben threw it behind him and Emmanuel adjusted and made the catch...something i have yet to see in this game. but everyone played like they were supposed to play though...the rookie stepped in for Peyton and played like ****..how i expected him to play lol. but this was my first game using the sliders and will post more feedback as my season progresses.

Might sound stupid but Do these sliders take into account Player ratings a lot?

These are probably my favorite ones that I've tried.

Im not sure if these are updated to the current patch or not but I just tried them out and thought id post the Box Score here so people can see what they are about.

Im using my 2nd year Patriots Franchise for this.

I don't want to come off as a jerk, but I just haven't seen much resistance in the passing game unless DPI is at 100 and OPI is no lower than 75. These are essential for a challenge in the passing game when combined with 0 pass reaction. It seems like your game resulted in an easy time with Brady. Yes, I realize it's New England, but you probably won't be punting that much this season with this slider set. And the running game, with anything above 10 for human run blocking, will be equally simple.

                        Hope that helps!

I just posted this using the sliders in the OP. Just as a reference for anyone wanting to try them.

But I did change my DPI and OPI to what you said and will post my next game vs the Dolphins when its done.
