Okay I tried this by mistake, because something I changed in hex made McNabb into a FB in the game. He is still slow as hell as a QB but as a fullback he's fast. So that will not work, no matter who you put at QB will be slow. It messed his name up too and it froze when i tried to click on edit abilities.

Well, it was worth a shot. Have you been able to edit the stars to bronze, silver, and gold? Also, what about jersey numbers?

no jersey numbers, and no I haven't tried changing the tiers of the players.

As u probably know the tough as nails abilty is not available in game, but I was able to assign it to James Harrison. I just don't know which number it was. That's the hardest part figuring out which code goes with which ability. hopefully somebody can figure that out.

Ok I figured out how to change the position, number, and tier of the players now through the hex editor. Right now I am gonna look into changing equipment such as the facemasks as someone asked.

I have not tried changing the original legends themselves yet. I still need to know some more info as to how to read them in the file so I can recognize who is who. Once I do that I will present to you guys my findings.

After that I will then look into the teams themselves and is it possible to move players to different teams despite tier. In my opinion that probably is not necessary since if I can change their tiers then does it matter what tier they are in as long as they are both on the team.

For example Derrick Thomas, Joe Montana and Marcus Allen on the Kansas City Chiefs could be still created by moving Allen or Montana to silver, thus keeping the team build of 2 golds, 3 silvers and 6 bronze in place.

All in all I should be done by the end of the weekend and post a vid tutorial.

I would have thought it's possible to break the tier limits, because some of the default teams do it.

Stayed up real late and I think I have found the player ratings. Problem is it is hard to tell what the rest are. Even if I am correct and they are the player ratings it is pretty much impossible to know for sure.

They seem to follow the same pattern as NFL 2k5 and are listed, just guessing here as....

Speed
Agility
Throwing Power
Throwing Accuracy
Strength

Then the rest I don't know for sure. All player data seems to be all in one spot in the file for each player. So you don't have to go a whole bunch of places in the file to edit a player. Also whenever I changed the position of the player the defaulted ratings for each player type showed up for my bronze guinea pig. So there are default ratings in there for each player type in there.

I am cataloging all my findings as I go.

1. So far found all the position codes which was easy enough.
2. Found how to adjust the birth year of a player.
3. You can change the facemask type for players.
4. Oddly enough shoe type and tier seem to be related, I changed the shoe type of my player and the tier HEX number code changed which was odd. I'll try to make sense of it another time.

Then the next agenda is the hard one and that is to find the codes for each and every ability for each position. Once that is done then I can use that info to find the original legends and see if I can edit them.

Man... catcatch seems to be my APF savior. Once I find more time I'll be another set of hands willing to help. Modifying all kinds of restrictions opens this game wide open.
