wow. I find it amazing that people still play this game. Unfortunately, if at the end of EA's current agreement with the NFL and/or NFLPA they are able to extend their contract, what then? Just curious.

My guess is that if the revenue is still there on Madden, T2 (or whatever umbrella 2K is under) won't have the cash to pony up and get a license. The NFL (et al), in their infinite greed is going to grab the guaranteed cash with little or no regard for you, the consumer.

As long as folks continue to buy Madden or fail to complain to the NFL about the shortcomings of their contractual agreement with EA, it seems likely nothing would change.

Who knows what a bad economy would bring, that NFL license is pricey, maybe EA would like to have 2K pay half of it and let them in to the NFL game?

This being the title that caused EA to "throw in the towel" and run off from a fight with 2K, I don't know. If I were EA, I would have to think long and hard before opening that can a worms to resume a fight with a dangerous opponent. I really think the impetus to get 2K back in the game will have to be the NFL or the NFLPA.

Ugh, I have an imac and a macbook.

If you have the newer Intel chip Macs you can boot into Windows. That's what I do for my 2K5 needs.

I bought an old Xbox just for 2K5 and it was an investment well worth the $49 price at Gamestop. Something about the flickering lines playing it on my 360 just drove me nuts.

I don't consider most of us here "milking" the game. I play it simply because it is the best football game available and Madden continues to stink up the joint year after year.

I think 2K8 plays better football on the field, but the goofy stadiums and lack of custom options makes it not quite as fun as 2K5. Plus I simply don't feel as immersed in the game playing APF. It does still blow Madden out of the water in the football department though.

I think if 2K would take the APF engine and make a totally customizable experience combined with the presentation of 2K5 minus the cartoonish stadiums and logos it would simply be the greatest sports title ever.

I just got this game and have only played 2 games on it but I am already seeing what the hype is about. I will play this until someone can come up with something better which at the rate madden is going will probably be like madden 2215 or so

Is 2k5 backwards compatible with the 360? Since when? I still don't understand why both companies took their exclusive deals with their two worst sports divisions while taking the best sports divisions of the two companies. (2k with the nfl and ea with the mlb).

It's been backwards compatible for awhile now (not sure when, specifically though).

you know you could have just switched the video mode to 480P on the 360 dashboard and it would have fixed that

480p is garbage pail juice, I will continue to play NFL2k5 until their is a better alternative which will probably be 2000Never, so its 2K for Life!! Till death do us part

lol...what are you talking about? How does playing the game in 480p on a 360 vs a regular Xbox translate into the 2K5 for life and "till death do us part" (which is more than a little creepy) silliness?

The liscense is up in 2012 and I think 2K5 can last until then. If Madden makes a decent game before then I would be happy 2 buy it!
