how to play 2k5 on ps3?

I'm an ultra-newb when it comes to this, but I didn't see a FAQ or "How-To" thread so I was curious how this could be done, as I cannot play my ps2 version on my ps3 for some reason. I was curious if there was a way to torrent a version of the game or burn it on my ps3 in some way.

Is your PS3 new or did you have it for awhile? I know the new ones dont play PS2 games anymore.

Go look at your PS3, if it has 2 USB ports, it wont play PS2 games. If it has 4 USB ports, then it could play PS2 games. If it has 4, then i dont know what your problem is.

BTW, i heard the XBOX version is much better so if you have an xbox or a 360, get the xbox version.

yea im pretty sure there isnt anything you can do. i just bought a PS3 myself and i wanted to play grand theft auto san adreas on the PS2 version and my PS3 wouldnt read it.

I looked online and people said the newer PS3's with the 2 USB ports can only play PS3 games which i thought was really stupid.

Do you have xbox or xbox 360? If so just get the xbox version of 2K5. Its only 99 cents used at your local gamestop. If you dont have xbox/360, then your SOL.

Yeah, only the first generation and second generation PS3's were backwards compatible. I had to go to Gamestop and dump $450 on a used one, just because I wanted a backwards compatible one.

Let me make this simple what they are trying to say. Yes you can If you have a 60 GB. Which Sony quit making and has a problem with the YLOD *Yellow Light of Death* which what my did. I had to go buy a new 160GB. An yes I tryed to re seal it and it didn't work. I tryed it twice.

            60GB-does play PS2 games.
            80GB/120GB-don't play PS2 games.

My 80 gb plays ps2 games just fine. I've never had any issues.

That's because you have the first run of those 80 GB boxes that had software PS2 compatibility (It emulates the Emotion Engine). The later 80's,like the 40's, did not include this.
