    Having trouble running the football

Me and 2 friends just started up a franchise with Detroit, Green Bay, and Oakland. Just downloaded the new roster set of King's.

We're playing on All Pro with default sliders and we can not run the ball at all. I'm averaging less than a yard per carry with Kevin Smith, I realize the Det. O-line is bad but does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe a slider level?

Thanks in advance. We advance to week 3 tonight

What roster set? Kings? So not one from here?

Well basic logic of follow your blockers, dont run on 8 in the box, dont run a sweep right when the d loads the dline and lbs to that side. If your going to try any thing with a pulling guard, makes sure hes decent. I can run all over this game and most of the time it doesnt include many broken tackles. Your running game can become deadly against a friend. When he expects you to go right and you do a counter, its a thing of beauty.

Last time i played online i averaged over 8 ypc. When you know what weakness a defense is showing, you can run all over them.

lay off the turbo tapping until ur blocking lane is opened up. then ur good to go. gotta have patience in this game since u collide with all players, even ur own blockers. if u try to cut around while ur hitting turbo, ur guy will slide around a lil and prolly run right into ur blockers back and get hit for no gain/minimal gain.

im not even great or nothing and using the seahawks with an avg OL. julius jones got 230yds in wk 1 vs stl. i got 100+ vs sf. i got around 100yds vs chi. i also got around 100 vs indy.

oh yea, im on all pro with default sliders as well and using an updated roster with the aggression raised.

yeah it may have to do with the lions having crappy oline and a fairly pedestrian back. Maybe you should try to run with other teams to see if it can be done. Adrian Peterson is always a great pick ha.

As for some tips, well its good to try and mix up your runs. If you keep pounding inside with a strong iso for example, then mix in a sweep as the defense loads up to stop inside runs. Keeping it balanced is always good, run in both directions by calling a weakside run out of an I formation, then motion the TE over to the left (if you want).

On sweeps, you can also attempt to move the run-side WR away to the oppoiste side to see if the corner is in man coverage and follows, if he does then leave him there. If he's in zone and doesn't follow, bring ur WR back a bit past the tackle/TE with a decent angle to block that CB. If your RB is not fast, it can be difficult to get to the edge on a sweep without proper blocking. With a speedy back it can be broken for huge chunks of yardage. Remember to run sweeps in the correct direction based on which hashmark your offense is at, don't run a sweep toward the shorter field on either side, flip it if necessary.

Some toss plays out of a shotgun can also catch the defense off guard. You can also run out of spread formations so you got 5OL vs 4DL and 1 MLB.

If you have some daylight and 1 defender to beat, try using a right stick up move or whatever, oftentimes the defender will get juked and you can take off.

Once u get a good feel for running its really fun, probably my favorite part of the game since every run is pretty unique, unlike pass plays.
