Do you own a PS3? Because if you're planning to end it all in a couple of years because of some Mayan calendar ballyhoo, I'd appreciate it if you'd pop that sucker on a UPS truck and send it to me. I'm an MLB The Show fan, but I can't see spending all that money just to play one game.

Where did he say he was going to end it all? He said the world would end. That wouldnt be his choice. So if he goes you go.

From what I have heard from a few people I know who will be contributing to Madden 11 next year, Next years Madden should be a game for the community.

Lets be honest here, they are going to do it eventually. Not this year or maybe not even next but M12 i believe will topple 2k5. Hey i can handle updated rosters for the next 2yrs

I see myself playing NFL 2k5 less this year. I would love to see a newer version but, that is life.
                Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

I guess these things come down to what one considers "toppling." M12 will have better graphics, will include cutscenes and also improved/advanced franchise features. But if the EA developers still plan on using that same inferior last-gen game engine that only allows them to create stuff like "gang tackles" by pasting together animations of D players attaching themselves to the ballcarrier the way flies attach themselves to a pile of sh*t, then no, I wouldn't call that toppling 2K5, not even close.

Yeah i agree, but i do think that if and that is a big if they nail gameplay well this year then next yr and the one after that will be spent on animations and fixing that god awful looking running as well as a presentation upgrade because even though they have included some this yr it is certainly not up to the standard of this game.

Until the EA developers incorporate next-gen video game technology -- a euphoria engine, for example -- Madden will never be anything other than a last-gen game with next-gen graphics. It's true they could probably still tweak the gameplay so it plays like the sport it supposedly represents. But it remains to be seen how committed they are to that goal. The game sells millions of units precisely because the arcade gameplay appeals to kids and button jockeys. Regardless, because of the decade old game engine, improvements to Madden each year will always fall in the catagory of putting lipstick on a pig. Their laughable attempt the past two years to add the "illusion" of something resembling gang tackling is a perfect example of that.

I remain hopeful for this year version Madden. NCAA Football 10 is a pretty solid game of football (other than a compelte utter lack of presentation), and Madden should be even better. NCAA finally "feels" like a game of football for the first time since the PS2 glory days; I thought that 08 was trash and 09 wasn't much better.

While I highly doubt that Madden will ever surpass 2K5, if Madden 2012 somehow does, I will be simply amazed as it only took them SEVEN ******* years to do so. Thats more sad and funny than it actually being a good thing which makes it even funnier and sadder. LMFAO.

                            Bahahaha. Good point.

It would be even more hilarious if we are still playing 2K5 (Which I will probably still play), updating rosters, and people will still compare M12 to 2K5.

Sad and funny, just like you said.

Unfortunately it is always "next year", I'll believe it when it happens.

I hate to say it but our best hope for a new good NFL football game rests in the anti-trust lawsuit going on against the NFL now and someone else gets to make one. (And I honestly don't think that there will be a decision in that case for quite sometime; favorable or unfavorable.)

Everybody the college license is up this year. After 2010, 2k sports Can make College football games. Ncaa knows that having muiltiple outlets they can make more money. They signed for 6 years which ends this year.. they can Hone their football games with college games until the NFL license is up.
