Too Many Linebacker sacks, not enough DE sacks

This doesnt apply to simming, but specifical in-game. Dont know about everybody else but Ive gone about 5 games without any sacks for my d-line, but find that if I blitz a linebacker manually, I can get a sack about 50% of the time. only designed blitzes, the only guys who ever get close to the QB are the linebacks, and occasionally the nose tackle. it doesnt matter if the DE's are Strahan and Reggie White, they arent getting any sacks on my defense on the cpu offense

yeah, i think it has alot to do with speed. the ends can't get off the line and outside fast enough, and they don't have the strength and weight of the defensive tackles, so when they rush outside it takes forever for them to get off the tackle. but i do get some pressure from my ends from a 3-4. in the 4-3, if you manually control the end you can get some sacks if the qb doesn't rush his throws, but its too boring for me.

      WOW!!!

If anything, I get WAY TOO MANY sacks with my DE's. I can easily get 50+ in a season with any DE rated 90+ and over 40 with any DE rated 80+.

DT's are less and linebackers are way less because I dont like to blitz since I usually get burned when doing so.

Ya, but are you taking manual control of the DE's and turbo'ing?? If so, there's no doubt you do.

That observation is just from controlling the saftey or someone in the backfield and watching the cpu pass rush. You'd think a DE would catcha QB at least once

actually, on 6-7 minute quarters, strahan got 10.5 sacks on the season, and should have gotten about 6 more but the CPU qbs all abuse the right stick qb evades.

Try adjusting your difficulty levels. I've been playing with Bill's sliders and NOT controlling the DE...my linemen have twice as many sacks as LB's.

Those slider sets have CPU blocking at 40, i dont see how that will lead to more sacks by the DE. I have it at about 1/2 and i see maybe 1 sack in a 7min quarter game by a DE, and usually its due to a blitz or a rollout sack. When i see the CPU DE rush upfield, they usually take crappy angles and the QBs rarely hold onto the ball unless you've called the perfect coverage. Maybe there needs to be rating adjustments to lower pass blocking for tackles, while upping passrush for all ends.

The linebacker thing is pretty much true. I seen shawn merriman wreck havok with his 99 pass rush comin from the outside, he just shed blocks right upon contact. I've never seen a DE do that.

Yeah I found that it was actually that slider set causing the problem. not that they are bad persay, but for someone who hadnt played 2k in a few years and was just coming back for a few pick up games, i didnt need the challenge of a 40 blocking for CPU

What about if you lower consistency, pass blocking, etc. for the offensive tackles?

Well for me I have all of the attributes set just right for sim results, so thats why I was looking for an adjustment when it comes to in-game that wouldnt require changing all of the ratings. the original blocking ratings are low enough to have QB's getting sacked 40-60 times a season on average, so i changed those

That's why with this game it's pick your preference. Do you want ideal gameplay conditions or do you want the ultimate stats. You'll never get both.
