    k-gun,

i was told that the 165 only takes in a 480i/480p input and then converts it to whatever it is you want...are you sure about this?

      birdog,

no not at all...but i wonder how an upconverted 480p to 1080i would look
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.

I have a Samsung DLP that is native 720p and WSB2k3 does look great. I can't wait to see ESPN football. I am a little bummed that ESPN NHL Hockey will not support 720p but NHL 2k3 looks good at 480p so I guess it will be OK.

Ever since I read your post, I have been looking up info about the Samsung DLP 50 inch tv. This baby looks awesome. It got a lot of good reviews at Cnet.com. Tell me what you think about this review:
I'm overall happy with the purchase, and think it's the best thing out there for the money. However, two things bug me.. Blacks aren't black enough, and the inputs don't work well with higher end Xbox games(xbox is capable of outputting 480i-1080i). When using component, HLM507W doesn't have 1 single input which supports the spectrum, but rather 1 that does 480i/480p and 2 that support 480p-1080i (the xbox dashboard is 480i, while some games can use 720p or even 1080i). It is a minor problem, but it is annoying.

            I appreciate your help.
