    CPU LOSES CHALLENGE

I was playing my first full game. Giants V. Ravens. Baltimore has the ball on their own 16. 3rd and 1, they call a toss, the ball and Brandon Short arrive at Jamal Lewis at the same time, Lewis goes down the ball is ruled a fumble, Shaun Williams scoops it up and goes in for 6. As I'm lining up the extra point Billick throws the red flag. They challenged that the ball was going forward and therefore should be incomplete. I'm figuring, based on what I keep hearing here, ok this is coming back. But to my surprise, they ref comes out and says the ruling stands, TD Giants! It was really nicely explained and everything. It wasn't like the guy came out and said "The Ravens are challenging the ruling on the field", and then they cut to the replay. The Ref actually explained what they were challenging, and then explained why the ruling was upheld. Very nice touch. So don't be too quick to turn challenges off, the CPU is 0-1 so far in my game.

So far I'm 2-0 in challenges that *should* work. I have yet to see one that shouldn't be true. They were both pretty obvious.

Granted i've only logged a few hours, and the game lets me know this now with timelock i might add, but the challenge feature seems nice, the cpu has lost one, and I have won the only one I attempted. I think some people are a bit quick to bash it. I really think it's a nice feature especially how it was pulled off presentation wise.

I agree. It's awesome to think you saw something fishy on the play the first time, then verify that the call was blown by looking at the replay from various angles, then to throw the flag and have it overturned on the challenge. Too cool.

So far I've had one call go my way and two go against me. All were legit rulings.

                      Eh?

Something I'm missing? So you CAN watch a replay, THEN throw a challenge flag? Personally, I think it's almost more realistic (since the guys upstairs review it prior to telling the coach to throw the flag), but I think they should limit it to set camera angles...like the action replay footage.

I'm pretty sure you can, because I definitely watched a replay last night before I went to the Challenge option (which actually gave me a message that inside of 2:00 the reviews are done in the booth, which is what happened when I went back to the action). The play was then reviewed and overturned after I had manually watched the replay and rotated the camera to make sure the guy's foot was on the line.

From what I remember the Challenge option and the Replay option are on the same menu. So you'd just go to the pause menu and select Replay, then when you come back to the pause menu you'd select Challenge if you want to have it reviewed. I'm at work right now, so I can't verify this.
