How do you play FPF Defense

ON offense playing FP Football is pretty easy to get used to, although damn hard to do well. Kinda like read and lead for Fever. Good feature but hard as hell to do anything really good with.

However on defense I'm playing Man to Man on defense and I constatnly lose my offensive player I'm suppose to shadow.

And on Zone forget it. It's realsitc to the sense that if they get behind you, you can call that play over.

One thing you have to do and it's too damn awkward is to strafe. I wish ESPN would ahve used the R trigger for this becuase holding Black is just wrong. But if you do it, atleast you can look at the QB.

Who do you like to use while playing D in FP mode?

Yeah, strafing is key to playing effective D, no doubt. But one other equally important aspect that appears to be overlooked is backpedaling (ease back on the left thumbstick). This is very important to learn when controlling any DBs in man or deep zone coverage.

And as a DB in man coverage you won't be able to speed burst while shadowing your man (remember, you're still holding down the white button). So being in proper position to cover your assignment throughout a play without having any wasted motion is even more vital since you can't increase closing speed to make up for any coverage mistakes.

That's why the PS2 controller is great... the R2 button is strafe.

You are saying that you can lock onto the guy... now that would be L2 on the PS2, but I see in movies that you can also lock onto the ball... what do you press to do that?
