A quick question if anyone knows. Do you have to hold the button to stay charged up, or can i let it go and then do the special move?

I have always held it down, but it does become a pain every once in a while.
Eternal Salvation or triple your money back!

Here is another tip for your running backs if some of you havent even experimented with this:

Besides using the the game buttons to JUKE you can also use the 2nd analog controller to do a few extra jukes as well

Pushing UP on the 2nd stick will make your RB slow down and do stutter step that looks very cool. Pulling it back does another type of stutter step animation...I think or it may be the same one as pushing up. Try it.

Pulling back on the right analog stick causes the runner to halt temporarily.

I'm getting better at taking the right angles and zeroing in on the ballcarrier, but my problem is that I'll go so fast that I'll literally run by the ballcarrier on accident instead of running INTO him. Yes, I suck.

I'm in the exact same boat. I was constantly landing flat on my face, but now i've pretty much adjusted to the toned down dive. And yes... I run right past the ball carrier at least a few times each game too.

running past the CPU rb's isnt totally a user related problem, the way the CPU rb's can cut back on a momemtumless sharp diagonals is a 'bit' 8-bit console-ish and unrealistic.
This is one of the only major gripes I have with the actual running game.....the sharp transistions on direction changes and the limited 8 way directional control needs to be improved upon and smoothened out some more next year or the ZIG ZAGGY running styles of the CPU rbs should be toned down a bit. Very rarely will NFL RBs waste so much time zig zagging around the field......they primarily hit the hole and head north-south with a few jukes, cuts, stiff arms and your occassional cut back against the grain and reverse of direction to try and make something big happen.
