    Commentary: Better in NFl2k3??

Anybodyelse feel that Peter and Dan say ALOT fewer lines than they did in nfl2k3?? IMO they do.

My guess would be because of the audio stored for Berman's halftime show as well as the Pre-game and Primetime Stuff.

This may also be the reason there isn't any sideline reporting.

    and peep this...

Remember this quote from the Anthony Chau in his interview with FBG.com??...

    </font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />

FBG: On the videos you've released for 2k4, it seems the crowds react better, sound-wise. Is that something you re-did?

Chau: Yes, we felt sometimes, the crowds didn't react as well to certain situations. The commentary has gotten so good. There are times when the commentators will comment on the crowd, ya know, "Listen to this crowd!"

FBG: Do the commentators know the difference between, say, a mid-season game and two teams fighting for a playoff berth?

Chau: The analysis on our commentary now is really smart. They'll comment, "well, they're not having that great of a season right now, they're 2-7 right now, and they're playing the Super Bowl Champ Bucanneers right now." They'll say stuff like that.

FBG: And it's the same commentary team as last year?

    Chau: Yeah.

    FBG: Good.

Chau: I know we could use the ESPN commentators, but these guys are great. And they really play of each other well.

FBG: So I take it you've got more commentary from those guys?

Chau: Oh yeah, we're still recording.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I don't know about any of you but I have not heard ANY season specific commentary nor any comments about the crowd. And there seems to be LESS commenatry than last year.

DONT GET ME WRONG!!! I love the commentary thats there but its alot more repetitve than last year is all I'm saying.

I think if VC is going to cutback on the amount of in-game commentary then they might as well bring in the Real-Life Sunday Night Football Crew for Nfl2k5.

The past excuse for Dan and peter has been that they are voice actors and that their lack of other obligations allows them to commit more hours to recording commentary. If the amount of commenatry is going to be cutback...then we might as well have the Real-Life Guys calling the game instead of Dan and Peter.

Maybe VC should use Dan and Peter ...Plus the ESPN Sunday Night Crew to spice it up a little bit and keep the commentary fresh . Either way it has to be better next year...at least be on nfl2k3's level.

Also, this is not hindering my enjoyment of the game in the least. I'm saying ths because the dumbazzes will no doubt post and say "Who cares about commentary when the gameplay is awesome? I don't." and Duh duh duh.

You know whats funny though? Is how VC can cutback on in-game commentary and STILL have the best commentary in pro-football gaming...but don't get Complacent, VC!!!

I guess in some ways its better this year with the Challenge and the way peter mentions height and weight and how long players have been in the league. Thats pretty tight.

they are alot more specific, however it's hard to notice sometimes, much like noticing all the different tackle animations. each user has his own pattern to how they play/react and thus the result is seemingly repeatitive announcers/gameplay/results. to prove this point, try watching a full game and try doing things that you normaly wouldn't, it's hard to do because reactions are reactions and are hard to control. it could also be because of the amount of time you spend playing the game, i heard fever has (or was going to have) downloadable commentary.

they are more specific in their association with players, drives (overlays and commentary), and on a teams seasons status because i have heard refrence to my 0-5 start. They also comment about specific players history and season stats.

i think they honestly ran out of time developing the game, it's their excuse for everything i have asked them about on the official forums. i don't hold it against them though, they implimented FPF and even though i don't like it, i respect their innovative development approach to the game. They aren't affraid to take chances on a hunch or idea, and that's why i enjoy supporting them and sega because that is the type of developer they are. I also invested in SEGNY so i'm biased, lol

I can agree that they took a step back this year. It would have been better to leave out the pre game intros and put in an player of the game explination. Because imo they are extremely repetitive. Also cant they save some space by just saying some of the lesser name players last name. I dont care about lineman at all they can take calling there saying there names out completely and expand the player audio database. Please get rid of the overload of hispanic names i dont think that many hispanic players ever played in the league that i got in one draft. And if the anouncer cant say the players name then dont put that name on there.
