Strange CPU decisions/Challenges
ok, observation I made...does every CPU coaches challenge get overturned? I've had about 3 so far and all of them have been overturned. Also does anyone else notice cpu coach does some strange things? I had them backed up on their own 3 yard line, 4th and 8, with 5 minutes left in the 4th...the score is only 10-3 my team, but they go for it anyways, end up not making it, and I score on the next play. Wouldn't it make more sense to punt in that situation? Does this happen often or is Jim Fassel really that aggressive a coach in this game??Tags: None -
Re: Strange CPU decisions/Challenges
i've seen the cpu coached team make alot of mistakes, i've also seen the ref's make mistakes and correct no call's under 2 min. it's not something we can control but i find the closer games tend to have alot more cpu participation in challenging calls.
the situation you explain could be looked at as a bad call, but then again if your up by 7 and they punt then your probably going to get a FG which means they have to score twice in under 5 min. and since they hadn't scored yet then they could figure it would take them that long to make it down the field. remember, the cpu figures it needs like 5 min. or more to drive the whole field. i only ever got into situations like that when i was handling the cpu, once i cranked up the difficulty and put it on longer quarters the cpu made alot less bone headed mistakes.

Re: Strange CPU decisions/Challenges
I don't have any of the issues you guys have. I thought the not kicking field goals thing was something but when they didn't kick it it was due to wind conditions. I've seen CPU coaches loose challenges all the time. I just don't challenge every call. I think when people say they don't see the CPU lose calls is due to not playing enough to see it happen.
Your 4th and 8 is an easy one. If they were on the 3 yard line and kicked the ball you could run it back for a TD which would have made the score 17 to 3. Or you could have been forced to kick a field goal which would have made it 13 to 3. So the best thing was to try and get the first down because either way you were going to get a TD or field goal out of the deal. I'm sure you forgot you were going to run the ball to try and run the clock out and if you didn't make the first down kick a field goal. Sounds like the CPU made the right choice to me.

Re: Strange CPU decisions/Challenges
No way, if your favorite nfl team does the same thing this sunday you'd be calling for the coaches head lol. I dont know that, 10-3, and they haven't been able to move the ball to well on me, backed up deep in their territory...and they have been doing pretty good defending me i might add, they should have punt and went for the stop or turnover(I fumbled once to that point).Comment
