Graphics Better on PS3 or PS2 for NFL2k5?
I just received my PS2 copy of NFL2k5 only to find out that I have a non compatible PS3... My next move is to purchase either a PS2, trade in my PS3 for a compatible one, or maybe buy an Xbox360. I am solely making this move to play NFL2k5 so my question is- are there any major graphical differences from playing NFL2k5 on the PS2 in comparison to a backwards compatible PS3?Tags: None -

If you are making this move just to play 2k5, then you should buy an original xbox. It doesn't play any better on any other system. If a loved one is expecting a baby or just had one, please read about Craniosynostosis. It is a common birth defect that can sometimes be overlooked by doctors.

NIGHT & DAY.
Again, if you're going to get a last-gen just for 2k5, get the Xbox:
Replays
Custom Soundtracks
Weekly Highlight(s) Show
Postgame Summary and Replays
Better Framerate
Much Better Graphics
Editing Tools
Better Community Roster Support
Halftime Highlights
Some other things I can't rememberUnofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"
Now Playing:
XB1 (Forza Motorsport 6 and Horizon 2)
Switch (Mario Kart and Zelda)
PS3 (old 2k games and the Show)Comment

I second this. Whatever you do, DO NOT get a PS2 for this game instead of an Xbox.

If you're just worried about graphics the ps2 version with component cables if pretty good looking. But like the others have said the xbox version is better but the core gameplay is still the same in both versions.Comment

Gill when you say better what do you guys mean? I hate to be so nit-picky but I'm about to drop some coin just to play this game so I want to make sure I make the right decision.
When you guys say better on Xbox are you referring to actual added features, Graphics, or do you just mean in reference to using the updated rosters and franchise files?Comment

Re: Graphics Better on PS3 or PS2 for NFL2k5?
I'll echo what inkcil said.
The xbox version is a bit superior in the graphics department and it has full highlights during the halftime/postgame show (ps2 also has this but you'll need a ps2 with the hdd otherwise you'll just get still photos).
I do disagree with the editing part. XBox and ps2 files can be converted back and forth so there's really no edge there.
I really don't care about the custom soundtracks but that's another plus for the xbox version.
I'm more concerned about the gameplay and both versions are solid.Comment

I have the game for both the PS2 with progressive cables and the XBox version playing on a 360 and it ;ools and plays virtually the same. You don't get as many updated rosters though. You can pick up a use xbox for 50 bucks with a 90 day guarantee from eStarland online. Everyone else basically gives you 30 days if anything at all. If I was you I would get a 360 and pick up APF 2k8.Comment

Re: Graphics Better on PS3 or PS2 for NFL2k5?
Yeah. I don't have an 360 but I've heard some people complain about frame rate/choppyness. And that the original xbox 1 plays 2k5 better.
I'm just trying to save you steps and money if you already have the ps2 version of 2k5. 2k5 with component cables plus a max drive to transfer saves and I'm good with it. I usually skip the halftime show it's really not a big deal to me. Like I've said before I'm more into the core gameplay than highlights and music. But ultimately it's up to you bro.
I love the gameplay of APF but the lack of a franchise kills it for me too. I still play it once in awhile tho.Comment

Re: Graphics Better on PS3 or PS2 for NFL2k5?
How do I access the updates for NFL2k5 on the PS2? I forgot if it's wireless or not, is there a website were the updated files are saved or will it download the updates when I boot it up? How do I transfer roster files to the Ps2(going to search now)Comment

Re: Graphics Better on PS3 or PS2 for NFL2k5?
Transfers are a lot easier to do on the 360 at least they were for a newbie like me. They had and still might have some really great deals for a 250gb 360. I've been a Playstation fanboy for over 15 years and love the Box now. I would dump the 250 for one.Comment

I would go to the nearest goodwill and get an Xbox 1 man, I got this game for PS2, graphics are great, gameplay is great, but if you like the little things like Custom Soundtracks and Halftime Videos, go get the XBOX version and drop about $10 on that Goodwill Xbox, $5 on a Goodwill Xbox Controller, and $10 on the wires. Haven't gotten what I needed to update rosters though, I heard its somewhat easy.Xbox 360 Rosters:
NBAE League Roster Project (2K13)
NBAE League (2K14)
Xbox One Rosters:
NBAE Pro-Am League (2K16)
