    Player Progress

I did a search and didnt really see anything. I am just wondering if i am doing something wrong here. I am a huge Bills fan. In my second season i won the superbowl on All pro skill level. I ran for 2200 yards with Travis Henry and averaged just a little over 5.5 yards per carry. I threw for 5400yds with Drew Bledsoe and 40 TD's. Now, here is my question. When i get to the off season Henry wants to retire and his rating dropped (88 down to 79), he was only 26 years old, Bledsoe did the same thing. His rating dropped from a 90 to a 79, while during the season his QB rating was 127. Why are the player ratings dropping so low? This is the one and only thing i dont like about this game. In Madden after seasons like that the player ratings really jump up, exspecially when they make the pro bowl. Another example was a rooke WR i got in the first round after my first season. He was only rated a 69 because of his poor blocking skills. He was rated at 94 speed, 96 agility, and 91 catch when i drafted him. Him and Moulds each got 100 passes. Moulds' rating went from a 91 down to 80 and the rookie's didnt change. Shouldnt they change based on a great season, or am i doing something wrong? Any input would be great. Thanks for any input.

I don't know why your guys are dropping in their abilities like that. Did any of them get hurt?

I am in 2006 (4th year) of my Bills franchise, and Bledsoe is a 92, McGahee is a 100 (had to trade Henry away...too much $$$). Not sure what Moulds is, because I got hit by the salary cap hard, and had to trade him away...luckily, I was able to get Rogers for him, who is now a 95 with 95 catch, 100 speed.

McGahee has not had less than 1800 yds rushing, and Bledsoe has not thrown for less than 4500 yds and 40 TD's. My primary receiver (Moulds for 1 year, Rogers for the last 2, going on his 3rd year) has averaged 105 receptions and 1700 yds and 15 TD's.
Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a ttoal jmulbe and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

    amzanig huh?

No injuries at all to any of them. Are you using the updated rosters? or just what came with the game? I am thinking the player progress doesnt work as well if you dont use the rosters the game comes with.

EDIT: BTW....How do you like McGahee compared to Henry? Did you build is stats by running the full length of a few seasons, or did you edit him on the roster before you started the franchise?

I am almost at the point to believe that the players progress ratings are pre-determined. I has Nick Barnett, a rookie MLB and he had 105 tackles, 7 sacks and 5 ints. He went to the pro bowl as the #3 linebacker and his rating dropped 4 points. My backup MLB who didnt play a minute all season other than on Kickoff raised up 5 points making his rating higher than the star rookie. It just doesnt make sense. Ive also notices alot of rookie or young WRs catching 80+ balls going down a few points..

I have tried so many different settings and nothing has worked for me. I currently play on All-Pro (6 min quarters) with the CPU kicking accuracy slider all the way down. I know ESPN is a different beast than Madden, but on the hardest difficulty in Madden, they play like every guy is a 99 OVR.

I control the safeties, and they are in Zone coverage, while my CB's are in Man. 2-Man is the Defense I run most of the time. I just float out there and step in the path of the pass. Milloy had 14 picks for me last season, and scored on 6 of them.

But...one thing I can't control is who the CPU throws the ball to. I control the safeties, and they are in Zone coverage, while my CB's are in Man. 2-Man is the Defense I run most of the time. I just float out there and step in the path of the pass. Milloy had 14 picks for me last season, and scored on 6 of them.
