What process to use in creating new rookies (franchise)

There's 2 ways you can put them in the game, I'm wondering what most of you are doing.

1.Create the rooks outside of franchise and use the duplicate delete bug. Then start your franchise, but you're one year behind. They'll be joining the rookies from last year and the Superbowl wouldn't be in Jacksonville.

2. Sim/play a year and edit the draft class. Seems the best bet, but then you have to deal with retired players that just won't come out of retirment, cap issues and the pain of controlling all of the teams.
