Believe me, you haven't heard the last from EA on Madden yet. Not by a longshot. And remember, the gamer that doens't read message boards doesn't know about any of this. They've never seen a movie. They will get their first taste via a TV ad, or a store shelf.

I agree; that's why I said given all that they have done, the info hasn't reached the majority of football game buyers. That's why I think it'll be interesting to see what direction the tv/print campaigns take. I do think part of the reason we haven't seen any gameplay info from Madden at this point is in part because they don't want side-by-side comparisons to occur. I read a thread over at MM a week or so ago that seemed to allude to them being asked NOT to post gameplay video from E3. Not that ESPN is so much better or anything; just that it could work more against EA if people are out there confirming that Madden 2005 is too much like last year's game (most of the changes as we know are fixes to previous years problems). There hasn't even been much info on NCAA, and the movies of that game aren't anything to get overly excited about.

I fully expect EA to use a scorched earth approach as the release draws closer - they'll try to fill Madden ads everywhere in hopes of drowning out anything ESPN can put together. I'm sure they'll try everything they can to keep Madden fans' eyes from "straying". I'm not an EA/Madden basher or anything; just would like to see either game given a chance based on it's merits.
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period
