Why do they need to announce it tomorrow? I think the point in releasing earlier than your competitor is in the surprise. ESPN would have to release on the same day as NCAA for EA not to one-ups them by releasing even earlier. If ESPN announced tomorrow that it was releasing on 7/28, Madden would probably be released on 7/21-7/22. I've seen it happen before..that's the way these guys do business. You don't get to be Godzilla by sitting back and watching the Monster destroy NY. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Release Date ?
Darn....Normally Ea games are released with bugs...Because they are runshed out...They know they will sell a ton of madden games. With that being said I know Ea is scared and they are showing it...I Really believe Espn Nfl 05 is done or very close...If sega would announce that it's coming out at the end of july then ea would be forced to send the game out most likely with bugs.. By sending this game out on the 27th would be the best move...Because most people would then say SHOOT It's only 20.00 and I have time to burn before madden comes out...SO they will pick it up...Comment

Re: Release Date ?
Not ripping on you. Here's a fact for you. The major game sites knew about the 20.00 price tag before it became official. (That info was leaked) That was the first bombshell VC had for EA. This could very well be the next. Trade secrets get leaked; I'm sure that someone (probably a "reliable source") leaked this info. It could be a bluff to force EA's hand. We don't know. It is interesting to speculate, though.
We all want the game. Now. And why would a couple of sites go through all the possible heartache of unhappy customers by erroniously posting a release date? They want a scoop; they want people to order from them; but not at the cost of a possible negative response if they can't deliver. Also, I believe that, by now, if they were erronious dates the web page guys would have corrected it. Also, brick and mortars normally have info in their computers from corporate... The drama continues......
P.S. If I was VC I'd package the game in secret and drop the bomb the week before....Note to Tiburon Marketing:
A great product sells itself, no "back of the box" features required! (See Fifa...)
