I just got the new OXM in the mail today, and in a real small blurb, they give ESPN the OXM "Pick of the Month." Take it for what it's worth, I guess. (A couple of pages later, they have a big EA games blowout pumping up the fact that Madden and the other EA games are on XBox Live this year. This is also the issue that gives NCAA a 9.1, without any kind've meaningful review.)
The Pick of the Month blurb on ESPN says, "Last year, it ruled. This year, it's been rebuilt from the ground up for Xbox, and the extent of the Xbox Live functionality is mind-boggling. You'll be able to scout any opponent and even practice against his tendencies! Did we mention it looks amazing?" (Source: OXM)
It also says that we can expect a full review next issue (which I would guess should be delivered around 8/1), and in closing, they say "[G]iven the lengths Visual Concepts is going to in order to make not only the best Xbox football game, but the best football game period, we're pretty sure that ESPN NFL 2005 is going to rule like no other."
