I don't like how they avoid straight answers by saying "We've worked really hard on <insert feature> and we think you'll like it"

      damn.

Yeah that kinda killed the buzz for me to. I was hopin to be able to go to other teams and try my philosophy via weekly prep and see if it could be successful but that won't be the case this yr. Thats a serious...serious disappoinment on the Franchise Front. Makes ya wonder ..If we're not able to go to other teams...will CPU coaches get fired???? because last yr they didn't.

Spurrier was still the HC of the skins in 06 after 3 straight sub .500 seasons in my Chises. Thats bullsh*T. We all know snyder..Gibbs won't even be there in 06! lol!

C'mon VC!! Don't f*kk this up again. If theres no Coach movement amongst CPU teams...thats a HUGE negative. Thats Franchise Mode 101..Coaches get fired and hired elsewhere. I can't see how VC can't have this in there this yr. I that it is.

I agree, I was pissed when I read this. I remember playing Madden 2001 and back THEN I was able to go to other teams if I was fired. Other coaches got fired, too, around the league. This is a huge part of franchise. It'd be great to coach, say, the Jets, and after five years I might either be fired or actually choose to resign from my job. Then, I eventually get hired by the Raiders. It would be great to go on and at some point, play against the Jet team that I helped build for five years.

They really dropped the ball on this. This is something that helps adds depth to franchise mode. I don't want to invest in my franchise for six or so years, somehow get fired, and have to start franchise mode ALL over again.

Nice interview. I'm pumped about this game.

Once again, for the people complaining, be grateful that VC actually chooses to have these Q$A.

                  Q: I have a 2-part question
I noticed in the Weekly Prep video from last week that theres a new ESPN.COM option in place of the "Stats" option from last yr. What exactly will this new ESPN.COM feature entail in terms of League News info? Will There Be anything new in terms of info from last yr like Position Battles, Coaches on the Hotseat, Trade Rumors, Free Agency Buzz, etc?
And speaking of Free Agency, Will there be any new college recruiting-type aspects added to the process of aquiring free agents such as using team prestige, playing time, team system, etc as selling points in order to get free agents to sign with your team?
                  Thanks

A: ESPN.com is a great new feature. It lets you look at all the stats, and all of the history of franchise mode. You can track trades/signings/retirements/cuts and more.

Especially if you consider the time you'll have to put in with Weekly prep. Hel, VC, if you're gonna restrict me to one team then AT LEAST have some coach movement amongst the teams around me so I can face different strategies. It'll suck if I Have to face the same dam 3 coaches twice a yr for 30 yrs inmy didvision like in 2k4. That's garbage. What's the point of playing Franchise if the League isn't going to change and Coaches and their Strategies aren't going to different teams? answer: none. At least not beyond 2 or 3 yrs.

The Ignorant claim Madden's Franchise was all about selling hot dogs but IMo that's like saying nfl2k4's gameplay was all about watching the cutscenes after a challenge.....stupid. Madden had/Has REAL Head Coaches, Coordinators and ST Coaches that get fired and hired elsewhere. I absolutely loved How after 2 yrs in Madden's franchise it was literally impossible for me to Keep Al Saunders as my Offensive Coordinator before some other team came after him for a HC gig and offered him some Crazy Loot that I couldn't match. To me thats DEPTH and Its what keeps Franchise interesting and worth playing.

Now I'm not saying VC has to copy EA...but dam...theres just some stuff that should just be Basic common sense in today's sports sim Franchise Modes...Like Coach Movement and/or the user being fired with the ability to seek employment with another team if theres an opening available.

Again, I hope I'm jumping to the wrong conclusion and 2k5 will have CPU Coaches being hired and fired.

However, while I hope my prayers get answered, I am thankful for the stuff VC did upgrade and the additions they made..ESPECIALLY Weekly Prep. But was just hoping they'd take care of some very basic aspects as well. Oh well, Polish should be the focus for 2k6 IMO. Get the basics right next yr, VC, please.

I'm still disapointed about not being able to change teams as a coach. I've wanted this for 3 years now.

<font color="red">I don't want to invest in my franchise for six or so years, somehow get fired, and have to start franchise mode ALL over again.</font>

Coach movement was on the PS1 for Madden. I do like the ability to have co-ordinators in the game too. That would be great. No doubt Madden has a great franchise mode and VC is still trying to catch up. I just hope the free agency logic and the draft are improved. That's still the bread &amp; butter of franchise mode (and the NFL).
