    Trick to rushing?

I mean what the trick? I can barely muster 90 yards a game with Ricky Williams, and it takes 30 carries to get that much. What is the trick to get the big plays when running the ball?

    Re: Trick to rushing?

I don't know that there is one besides a lot of practice or messing with the sliders. Last night I spent like 30 minutes repeating the same running play over and over. I went from getting -2 yards a carry to sometimes busting it for 26, 27,30 yards. I used Stephen Davis of the panthers vs. the Bears D. I think the key to having a good rushing attack is mixing up your play calling, using audibles to exploit weaknesses in the D, and having a decent QB that can scramble (at least til the D starts spying him when you abuse it).

Looking at the Dolphins last year, that seems pretty accurate.

Rushing just takes patience and some practice. I had 119 an 19 carries with LT last night. I audibled out of some bad plays when the defense had an advantage, and was just patient and tried to read my blocks as best I could.

I was running a practice this morning and I couldn't charge up when I handed the ball off on any of the zone cutback plays. It always took until I got to the LOS (if I didn't get tackled in the backfield) before he would start to charge up.

It's tough to pile up a lot of yardage against a good defensive team if your using ALL PRO DEFAULT or better settings. The difference between running against a good team and a bad team is like night and day. It's tough but doable.

That's the key. Just like the real NFL, it takes patience to establish the running game. I love this game because the running game is not automatically there from the start of the game. You have to work the left/middle/right of the d-line and wear them down. You also have to keep the RB's legs pumping (a button). Charging up is also a big help because you can break the first tackle most times.

                        lets see:

on alot of outside running plays, if you notice, once you snap the ball you will be running along side a o-lineman...what you wanna do is tap the analog so you can get behind...so you can speed burst off of his block...

since momentum plays such a big role...you cant 'push' the analog in the opposite way...cause you'll do the cut back animation...

alot of runs up the middle dont work...so call plays bouncing to the outside...

try having a three wide set to either side and call a toss...now speed burst all the way to the sideline, and try and juke...

you gotta rememeber at the end of thefirst quarter and the half the A.I will start reading your formations so if your in a running play set, audible out to a passing play and beat the blitz with your TE...then you can do the same play again later on...flip it, call a fake audible and then run the ball

im getting the feeling that the right stick jukes is the key to the running game...but i need more practice learning the moves

when i saw jeff thomas, pulling off all those moves in that video...i thought this would be easy...but i guess not

                        (way too long)

It doesn't take long to establish the running game. You have to wait when you get the ball, don't just rush balls to the walls. Don't use the speed burst UNLESS you are trying to get around a pack of people. Just follow your blockers while charging up, this allows you at least one move at the LOS. Learn how to use the right joystick as well. I took Julius Jones right up the gut on an iso, performed a shoulder charge at the line to get by the MLB, then I pressed up on the stick to shuffle my feet, then moved it left and juked the dude out of his shoes. I then ran for 17 yards before the FS finally came and hammered my [censored].
