what's the point of playing zone besides stopping the run??

i mean if you play against a human and you play zone. they can easily put a man in motion and hot route you to death. Last night, i was the packers, opponent was the rams. so i decided to mix in zone vs man. al harris(cornerback) is like a 74 while torry holt is a 99. so even if i had my better corner(mckenzie0 on holt, all he had to do is motion holt over to al harris side. do a hot route. hext thing you know, torry holt is ahead of al harris by like 7 yards. We play legend for 9 minute quarters.

Do i need to adjust the sliders for legend?? because it just doesnt seem like the coverage is tight at all. with the rams, you can just hot route streaks and slants all day. I don't play against the computer. but i am sure that they wont use hot routes every single play the way human opponents do. i mean, what the heck is the point of a playbook if all you do is hot routes?? everyone is not PEYTON MANNING!!!

Try flipping your zone coverage to the other side. I do that all the time to make sure I get max coverage on the strong side. Or you can try bring your DBs in or shifting them. Basically, you have to adjust to what your opponent is doing. 2K5 gives you a lot of coverage options, you basically have to figure out what works best.

I play tons of zone and I blitz my linebackers. I play zone maybe 75% of the time.

Try playing a cover two( man underneath with the corners and linebackers and zone over the top). If your opponent gets a mismatch ie: LB covering a WR then you can take a saftey out of his zone and double the WR or take control of the saftey yourself and just pay a little closer attention to that WR. Be sure to mix up your coverages so your opp. doesn't get a bead on what your trying to do to him
