    CARDINALS at BENGALS
    27-0

What started out as a nailbiter got away from the Cards in the second half. The first two plays from scrimmage for Cincinnati were a huge, 40 yard run from Rudi Johnson followed by a quick strike from Kitna to Chad Johnson for an 11 yard score. The rest of the half was punts back and forth between the two teams. In the second half, two quick audibles out of running plays led to two long passing TDs for the Bengals. After missing an early 51 yarder wide right, Shayne Graham came through with 2 FGs of about 30 yards each. Final score, Bengals 27, Cardinals 0.

The game was much better than the final score and I can't wait to play out the rematch, DFB.

        BENGALS at RAIDERS
        21-13

In what is perhaps the most improbable upset in the short history of the OSFL, the Cincinnati Bengals managed to overcome improbable odds to win a game dominated by the Oakland Raiders. The first half was opened with a Raiders FG. The scoring ceased until the very last seconds of the half, but the stat sheet was all Raiders. Then, after burning timeouts to force a Raiders punt, Jon Kitna threw up a prayer on a Hail Mary that somehow ended up in the hands of Peter Warrick for a 61 yard score. The halftime score was 7-3 Bengals.

The Raiders had no intention of losing, however, and opened the second half strong. The middle of the third quarter saw a determined Oakland offense pop in the end of a 79 yard drive with a 4 yard Amos Zereoue sweep to the right. After the extra point, the score was at 10-7. With a quick drive to open the fourth, the Raiders added to the lead with a Janikowski FG to make it 13-7.

With the odds against the Bengals and Kitna playing awful, Cincinnati subbed in Carson Palmer with a miracle in mind. After trading a few possessions, Cincinnati got the ball at their own 21 yard line. Four quick plays and precious little time later, Palmer found little known Kelley Washington in the left quarter for the go-ahead TD to make it 14-13. On the ensuing, must score drive for the Raiders, Collins was picked off by Rogers Beckett, who ran the ball back about 40 yards for the safety blanket score. Collins was then picked off again to end the game.

Brasil, I almost feel like I should apologize for that one. I really stole the game. The rematch will be very, very intense indeed!

          Cincinnati at Oakland
Kitna throws a pair of first half interceptions in the redzone, and Raider penalties keep them out of the endzone for the first half. Cinci connects on a 62 yard hail mary as time expires in the first half to lead 7-3.

Oakland mounts a 12 play drive to start the second half and take the lead. After a 3 and out, Oaland again drives the field, but a spot challenge at the goal line takes 7 points off the board and they have to settle for a FG to lead 13-7. Oakand gets the ball back, but is unable to kill the clock when Wheatly gets injured. Palmer replaces Kitna and the Bengals drive for the go-ahead score. The desperate Raiders immediately throw a pick that is returned for a TD.

          Final: Cincinnati 21 Oakland 13.

They are popping the Champange is South Beach as the last of the undefeated has fallen.

Just realized we were posting at the same time. Meh, I am sure everyone finds this facinating and appreciates the additional perspective.

New York Giants vs the San Fransico 49er's at 3 com park at candlestick point.

            Giants 17
            49er's 10

Both teams entered the game with identical records of 3-1. The winner would go to 4-1 and have a first place tie with the raiders who previously lost to the bengals.

After a hard fought game the giants came through with a victory as the gold boys had too much to overcome with too many dropped passes and a pass interference no call.

In the first quarter, the opening drive of the game led to a Warner to Toomer 13 yard td pass to take the lead 7-0. In the 2nd Quarter the Bengals answer back with a Barlow 8 yard td run to tie the game at 7. Late in the second the gaints add a 28 yard fg by chrisite to take a 10-7 lead.

No score in the 3rd quater caused primarily by a 15 play 82 yard drive clocked at 7 minutes and 54 seconds culminating in a Warner to Carter 8 yard td pass to make the score 17-7 giants. During a 49er possesion in giant territory there was a questionable no call on a play which clearly looked like pass interference. The 9er's score on a 47 yard peterson fg with under a minute left in the game. They then make a succesfull brilliant onside kick which they then recovered. However the giants d stopped the comeback hopes.

OSFL SEASON 2 SAINTS AT RAIDERS week 5

The saints in must win mode travel to oakland to
face the leagues' best secondary, things could not look
much worse for the 0-4 saints. The first quarter started
off slowly as both teams exchange 3 and outs, then the raiders
get on the board first with a Janikowski field goal for a 3-0
lead. Which seemed insurmountable with the saints stagnant offense
but 3 plays later Aaron Brooks hooks up with a streaking Deuce
McCallister for 75 yards and a saints touchdown. Score 7-3 saints.
The saints score on a John Carney field goal at the beginning of
the second quarter following a interception to make the score
10-3 saints, their biggest lead of the season!! After a big kickoff
return by Carlos Francis the raiders get in the red zone but have to
settle for another field goal, score 10-6 saints. The saints get the
ball back with 14 ticks on the clock and run once and call a timeout
then coach twosilk throws all caution to the wind and calls a streak
to Donte Stallworth and it connects over an outstretched Rod Woodson,
and he takes it to the house to give the saints a 17-6 halftime lead.
their first halftime lead all season. The Saints come out and begin the
third quarter with a long 13 play drive which ends with a Carney field
goal to put the saints up two touchdowns 20-6. The raiders not giving up
yet bring in that cagey veteran Rich Gannon who in turns leads then right
down the field for a touchdown drive capped off by a swing pass to Amos
Zereoue. Score no 20-13 in the fourth quarter the raiders penetrate the
red zone again but on a questionable call which brought out the boobirds
in oakland coach cardot decides to go for the field goal which is good and
makes the score 20-16 with 4:00 left. The saints come right back with a bomb to Joe Horn to make the score 27-16 and finish off the scoring. Coach twosilk breaks into the win column for his birthday what a 30th birthday present!! good game cardot hopefully i can win one or two more before you come to the big easy.

New Orleans Saints vs the New York Giants at Giant Stadium

                Saints 28
                Giants 42

1st Quarter begins and the Giants take the opening possesion and score the first points of the game with a Warner to Carter 3 yard hook up, 7-0 NYG up. Saints score when Brooks hits McAllister on a 32 yard fly pattern to tie the game at 7-7 all.

2nd Quarter, Saints score on a 16 play 78 yard drive lasting 6 minutes and 18 seconds with a Karney 1 yard td run, 14-7 NO. Gaints answer back with a Warner to Hilliard 57 yard connection to tie game at 14-14. Saints miss a long field goal at the end of the half.

3rd Quarter begins when Brooks' throws his first of 4 interceptions on the day. Giants then respond with a Warner to Shockey 15 yard td pass and reception to lead 21-14. Giants get the ball back and score again to make it 28-14 on a Warner to Hilliard 27 yard hook up for a td. Saints score on a McAllister 42 yard td run to slim the lead to 28-21 and end the 3rd Qtr scoring.

4th Quarter, Brooks throws another int which leads to Warner's 5th td pass, this of 10 yards to Taylor. Karney again scores for the saints on a 1 yard td run giving the saints starting backfield 4 td's and making the score 35-28. However Brooks throws 2 more picks the second of which leads to a Barber 38 yard td run and the game clincher at 42-28.

                  Week 6 game results.

                  NINERS 17 @ BENGALS 13

Wild and crazy game here. Back and forth like a see saw. The Niners took an early lead in the first quarter 7-0 with a 12yrd Barlow run. Middle into the First the Bengals strike back with a 41yrd FG to make it 7-3.

Second quarter the Bengals add a Touchdown early to take the lead 10-7 on a Chad Johnson 40yrd reception for a TD. The Niners would respond with a TD of their own middle of the 2nd with a Barlow 6yrd run making it 14-10 SF.

The Niners would add another FG on the Bengal 2yrd line with 6 seconds left in the half making it 17-10.

Whatever speech was given to the Bengal defensive team at half time it worked. The Niners would not score again leaving the door open for the Bengals to tie the game or take the lead. The Bengals scored on a FG in the 4th making it 17-13 and had their chances due to a dismal Niner Offense in the second half. Thankfully for the Niners their Defense has done what has done all year is help win games.

                  Final 17-13 SF.

GG here well done SON OF CHISS. Had me on the ropes here if not for the 4 Ints who knows what would have happen thanks to a lousy Niner Offense. LOL

                    Week 7: SF at Oakland

SF controlled the first half and scored on runs by Tim Rattay and Kevin Barlow. The Raiders were held to 17 yards on the ground in the first half, but did manage some completions and a late 2nd qtr TD. SF was up at the break 14-13.

SF was up 17-13 in the 3rd and appeard ready to take control when the game turned. Ray Buchanan intercepted a redzone pass and ran it back 90 yards for the TD. The Oak defense got a few more 2nd half picks, the running game got going and "Comittment to Excrement" got back on track with a 37-17 win.

                      Week 7
                      Cincinnati 27 - New York 13

Going to New York, the Bengals hoped to avenge a week two blowout to the number 1 ranked Giants. The G-Men started out strong driving quickly downfield and missing a long FG. On the ensuing possession, the Bengals shot out and quickly put up a FG to make the score 3-0. The second quarter opened with the culmination of a long Giants drive to even it up at 3-3. On the ensuing possession, a pair of 30 yard passes from Palmer shot the Bengals to the endzone in a hurry to make the score 10-3. Not to be outdone, Tiki Barber shot down the sideline 38 yards for the matching score. The next Cincinnati drive was intercepted on an amazing twisting jump by Brent Alexander. Tory James saved the Bengals, however, with a goalline interception that stopped a huge Giants threat.

The second half needed a huge Bengals shift, as Tiki Barber had tore up the Bengals for 135 yards rushing in the first half. Locking down the defense, the Bengals slowly began to expand their lead. A shot down the left sideline saw a quick juke to Peter Warrick become 6 on the scoreboard. New score, Cin 17, NYG 10. The Giants weren't quiet, and shot back to get a FG to make things closer at 17-13. Unsatisfied with a small lead, Palmer hit Chad Johnson on two consecutive passes to pop the score up to 24-13. A couple of Giants turnovers and a FG ended this one out. Final score Bengals 27, Giants 13.

Good game cat22catch. It was a battle in the first half and some hardcore D in the second. I'm sure there'll be some reckoning in the playoffs. Good Game.

                        Week 6 (make up game).
                        Oakland at Arizona.

Oakland took the opening drive and Gannon connected on a TD pass to Doug Jolley. 7-0 Oak. The Raiders had 2 more redzone opportunities, but came away with nothing after a missed FG and an Arizona pick in the endzone. Sean King led the Cards on a 70 yard drive and connected with Larry Fitzgerald to tie the game at half 7-7.

Oakland took a 14-7 lead on a Gannon to Curry connection. Following a 3 and out, the Raiders had an uneventful drive that led to a fg and a 17-7 lead. With 5:00 left, Cade (or Josh??) Mcnown came in for the Cards, but promptly threw a pick with Ray Buchanan took back 20 yards for the TD and a 24-7 lead.

Arizona made it intersting at the end with thier 3rd QB of the day, John Navarre. A Fg and then an onside kick livened things up. But the drive stalled at the end and Oakland got a pick at their own 1. A neal down into the endzone gave the Cardinals a safety as the clock expired.

                        Final: Oakland 24 Arizona 12.
