If this game was a tech demo, they would've let GTA speak on its behalf. Obviously they aren't making this game to put into more games because people have already seen GTA and probably are impressed, Madden people are. A TECH DEMO would be whatever T2 and R* saw when planning GTA IV. A GAME would be what we are seeing being made in the works. Just cause its a first time thing doesn't make it a tech demo, stop being so negative and cluttering this thread, please leave it to the people who actually care about this game

Showing the engine in GTA has nothing to do with showing what it could do in a football game. This thread isn't only for people who are excited about a game that has barely been seen. I'm not saying that it could be a tech demo because it's their first time making a game, I'm talking about it because of more than other reasons which I have said already.

Showing the engine in GTA has nothing to do with showing what it could do in a football game. This thread isn't only for people who are excited about a game that has barely been seen. I'm not saying that it could be a tech demo because it's their first time making a game, I'm talking about it because of more than other reasons which I have said already.

You seem to be basing your claims of not showing us anything and whatever else garbage you're passing off as valid excuses off the sole fact that EA Garbage 09 is releasing stuff and coming out soon. BB doesn't have a deadline other than December 31, 2008. Do you know how much time between now and then there is for them to finish the game and show us stuff. People seem to think that this game should come out June 1st or its screwed. A late July early August would probably be the best time to release because people will be disappointed by NCAA and skeptical about Madden. I'd also like to point out that EA has gameplay videos because their games are rehashes of last year. BB is new and fresh, their first time, of course they won't have any videos yet, sheesh. Just stop using the "they aren't showing us anything" excuse, its getting old and frankly isn't valid anymore.

It certainly is valid and I'm not basing anything on EA's schedule so I don't know why you're bringing them up. Once again, I don't care about Madden or NCAA, I'm not an EA football fan. We appreciate all the discussion in regards to Backbreaker. And yes, we do listen to the community and try to integrate some of the ideas into what we do.

But the title of this thread is a little misleading. We aren't in a "battle" with anyone. We've said that from the outset, we aren't competing with Madden.

They do what they do and it's proved successful. We are fans of the game.

With that said, we are trying to do something completely different. A new take on the football genre featuring the most realistic tackles on the planet. And beyond the revolutionary tackles, we think we are doing things with controls, cameras and to-be-announced features that will set us apart from other games in the genre.

Rest assured, Backbreaker is no "demo."

Wow, the developer wants us to take his word for it that the game is great and complete, even though we have no information on any sort of franchise mode and no video of actual gameplay. Ask the Madden developers, they'll tell you that their game is a realistic portrayal of NFL football. Should I believe them too?

I will buy this gamew as long as it has some sort of Franchise Mode and a little depth to it.If it's just bare bones with cool animations/graphics it won't be worth it,APF wasn't.

It still to this date has proven to be just that, a "tech demo". Once we get some REAL footage of the actual game then we'll shed the title.

One thing's for sure. No marketing, no brand recognition, no footage, and no license... I hope they aren't expecting much when it does drop.

Once again you are basing your opinions off of an imaginary deadline, like they are supposed to release it next month. No one ever said the game was complete and we don't even have a release date. Other than Madden (which already has gameplay and stuff cause they've made 5 versions of it already) can put out advertisements, 1. because they already know they will outsell everyone 2. They have fixed 08 footage that'll become 09. BB has no footage because 1. it might not be finished and if people saw it in a bad state they'd be turned off 2. there is really no deadline for them to pump out information. I think its safe to say it is at least 2 months away at the least because that would be when major gameplay videos and TV advertising would come out in my opinion.

Exactly,I haven't read of any release date other than later this year.Whenever they release the game,I just hope it's a complete game,not half a$$ like APF.

You said that it is a tech demo up to this point because of no gameplay videos. People seem to think that there should be some by now if it isn't, but there is no deadline for this game so they don't HAVE to release videos. I hope you can see why I think your post was implying that since you used the words tech demo and gameplay video, 99% of people saying that think that there should be videos just to prove them wrong, but what would be the point of showing us an incomplete product that would turn many supporters off?
