      Re: Looking for Football sim.

Been following this thread and have a question for the PFS players...

Does PFS include head coaches, coordinators, and position coaches? I'm a veteran HC09 player, and spend a great deal of time with it, but I'd like to pursue a pc pro football text sim. Coaching abilities are important in the real game, and should be modeled in any serious sim IMO.

I saw your post on the barcodegames.com forums. Right now the player is in complete control of all aspects of the team (rosters, strategy, custom playbooks, etc.), but your system has given me some great ideas to go off of.

I agree, for on the field play realism and accuracy, there is NO GAME better than Action PC Football. Blows FOF, Mogul and everything else out of the water. Not even close.

PigskinEmpire.com is a free online football coaching simulation. Team up with other players to take control of a college or pro football team. Create plays. Recruit players. Watch games and call your plays live.

Right now, I'm trying to decide between FOF and PFS. I like the way PFS is so damn customizeable, but FOF is so deep! If it had more customization, I would pick FOF. Like for example, say I want to start a season in 2006: I can do that with PFS, but not FOF.

                      Re: Looking for Football sim.

WHen I made my decision it was rather easy. I thought of PFS as an investment.

FOF has not had anything come out in a long time and PFS continues to shell out nearly monthly updates. The game is still very raw, but the developer is in tough with the community and is looking to improve the game.

I know OS probably doesn't like promotion of other sites but I did write a in depth PFS review at

Actually that's not correct. You can have historical rosters in FOF. In 2 of my online leagues we are in the 1998 and the other league is 2005 with true rosters.

If you go on the FOF Forum, they have "Historical Rosters".

                        I hope that helps.

Does FOF2k7 have the ability to apply custom skins and are there any available at the moment?

Im in desperate need for a football text sim but I cant take the outdated UI especially when playing games like OOTP on a regular.

Also, is there a site where I can get mods?

Here's a good one for ya.

                              PIGSKIN EMPIRE
                              ---------------------
Pigskin Empire is not your typical football MMORPG game, it allows you to create a coach and sign with any human coached team as a coordinator to start out and build your playbook. Pigskin Empire also allows you to use the plays you design in LIVE action, calling against other human run teams to try and become the best team in College or Pro football.

                              And here's another one.

                              Blue Chip College Football
                              -----------------------
Blue Chip College Football simulates the college football team building through recruiting. Your team consist of five offensive and four defensive players. On offense you have a quarterback, running back, wide receiver, lineman and tight end. On defense, you have a lineman, linebacker, safety and corner. Each position is rated on four skills necessary for that position.

Each year you will have the opportunity to recruit incoming freshman football players. The more players you try to recruit the better your chance of getting them. It is possible to recruit three players in one season but two recruits per season is the usual number.

Just like in real college football, players have four years of college football eligibility, from freshman to senior. Seniors graduate to the NFL. Players skills will improve each year. Single Season and Career records are kept for yards, touchdowns and tackles. Top scores are posted to the various honor rolls.

Each season consists of four out of conference game and a seven game regular season schedule. Your Bowl Championship System rank will be show after each game. If you win at least seven games you will get a bowl bid. If your BCS rank after your Bowl Game is #1, you are the National Champion!
