Man, why did I have to find this.

Geez, now I'm going to be tempted to get this game and make a modern roster for it.

I've been in two FBPro leagues and loved them both.

Oh I remember FBPro very well. I had 96, 97, 98, and the bugged 99. I loved that series and the baseball series also. Many, many hours spent on these games. 99 had a number of great ideas, but the execution was horrible. The fact that it was released in the condition it was in was the nail in the coffin for the Front Page Sports/Sierra Sports series.

I was in one called "ONAFA". Sadly, I only got two years in (first year took a rebuilding team to the playoff with heavy run game, including using an option-style offense and hard-hitting defense), before the commish couldn't keep up.

The league used to give out real-life trophies to award winners and the champs. I won Coach of the Year (both for the performance and the weekly write-ups I did on my team), and he had planned to send me my trophy, but he couldn't before he had to shut everything down

We used the VPNFL plans and ratings ranges (which is why I think that idea would be very viable and strong for Madden) and I made individual gameplans so we could use who we wanted as KR/PR without screwing up our depth charts.

Sadly, my team fell apart due to cap in the second year from the previous owner so I was in the midst of re-rebuilding (4-12 in the last completed season)

                    This was my roster:
This document contains information about the O N A F A football league, generated by Darian Rafie's Rafie's Weekly Suite v1.03 [Registered]

That sounds like a lot of fun. Those sites are down by the way.

These games had a lot of depth and tons of replay value. That is what we need in a game now. REPLAY VALUE! I want to run thru many seasons.

I had 96 and loved it even though my play editor was bugged. I always assumed it was just my PC but a few years I loaded the disk on another computer and it still crashed. I would love for a game like this to return. I've had an itch to play a football game where you could set up custom leagues and make plays. Unfortunately there is nothing modern that is going to going to cure my itch.

Why not hop into one of the active 98 FB Pro leagues?

Love FB98, the whole series actually....Being able to make your own plays added so much to the game....Also the ability to build game plans and profiles was beyond anything Madden is willing to do to make their game worth something.....

I played in leagues that followed the VPNFL format to reduce AI busting plays and set player attributes on levels to make them as realistic as we could at the time....

VPNFL page is still active: http://www.pnfl.biz/vpnfl/index.html

Greatest simulation game of football ever....

One of my favorite fan made apps for FBpro was one that would read game logs and compile plays called and results, thus allowing coaches to essentially study the game log and find out what plays opponents used in game plans, allowing all coaches to truly game plan an opponent....
