Re: Joe Montana Football 16: First In-Game Screenshot?

I said this in another thread, but the benefit of it not having an NFL license is that it could also double as a college game, given the right customization options.

Someone brought up that it would take way too many options to do such a thing, and in theory, I agree. But there are a million ways that they could go about it that wouldn't require a ton of space, including downloadable DLC. It would really just take an alternative franchise mode in which you recruit players instead of signing/drafting them.

Probably won't be the case, but it's something they could look into for the future.

I doubt there is much of a chance to see customization to the level that would allow the recreation of NFL or college teams on a console game. Just too risky in the current landscape.

I think one thing's for sure.

The community would need to make it easier to acquire these rosters.

I may be a little bit of an idiot, but it doesn't take a genius to realize how difficult it was to download rosters last gen.

Man, I guess nothing can please some. Wow. To say it doesn't look like a current generation game is nearly outrageous to me.

I look at that shot and am thoroughly impressed. The detail, the grass, the lighting, all looks nice. And Those default uni's alone look cool, much better than the excrement All-Pro Football shipped with.

Excitement is starting to build for me now.

I'll reserve judgement for in-game gameplay videos.

              No trailers. No cut-scenes.

              Give me gameplay videos, please!

Still leaves many questions unanswered but the idea of a possible new console football game is exciting. Actually seeing a picture does amp up the hype level a bit, even if said picture shows very little.

Looking forward the reading and seeing more from the team responsible. Hopefully at least some of the questions we all have will be cleared up sooner rather than later.

At least this is more than what we had but if this is anything like Backbreaker I won't be buying.

If this game wants to come close to a yearly type release it better be loaded its first year to gain enough sales.

The helmet in the guy falling over is green unlike his teammates and looks like something out of Mutant League Football.

I do however understand its a touched up early pic.

Meh...all we can conclude is what most of us who have been rational, assumed.

Unlicensed game with who knows what, if any, customizations.

Making any other judgements based off of a screen shot seems a little silly.

At least we can conclude that we've been trolled with the whole "This is an NFL game" post...and put that to bed
