The thing I'm interested in this game also will be team management in franchise modes. Having played APF for the last 3 or so years I actually do miss managing teams, building rosters, drafting, developing players, negotiating contracts, etc and I only got a small taste of that again with my short time with Madden 10. I'm not expecting anything that'll knock me out of the park, but then again, the devs haven't really touched on this much so I'm not sure how in depth or lackluster it may turn out.

Re: Backbreaker Info Thread
I have never actually understood how you can prevent people from using names. I understand copyrighting the players names and likenesses but I still dont understand how does one enforce such a thing.
I can you legally prove that Joe Smith is your copyrighted Joe Smith. Even if he is wearing a football jersey. To think about the sheer amount of very common names that are out there how can you possible ever prove such a thing.
BUT I remember them saying that this is only for online play right? You can have whatever names you want for offline play its just when you take them online they must be changed.
Complex intellectual property and copyright laws thats why.
If a reasonable random person sees a player named Peyton Manning, #18, Blue jersey, from Tennessee, 6'6, that random person would assume that its representing Peyton Manning. And since the NFLPA has Peyton Manning's name and likeness, they can enforce the law.
The law is unfair that way. I bet nobody on the forum has read the law pertaining to this area.
We might be breaking laws we don't even know about, or can't possibly find out.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Info Thread
Really? Why is it that the way I play football video games is somehow inferior to the way you play football video games? Please enlighten me?
If there was a game series that you played 95% of the time co-operatively and then they released a version of it without co-op would you still buy it? So I should buy it and sit it on a shelf and just stare at the case thinking "Gee I wish you had 4 player co-op so I could get my full enjoyment playing you,k but at least I bought you so that I didn't make a bad excuse not to"...
I'm just being honest, I play a ton of NCAA single player because I'm a huge college football fan, the last 2 years the only Madden I've played is 4-player co-op dynasties that me and a few buddies play on the weekends, we have a great time doing it, I haven't touched madden single player, so yes, as much as I really want to like backbreaker and buy it, if it doesn't support the game mode that I play 95% of the time, it would make no sense for me to buy it. Its not a condemnation on the game, and I'm sorry that my style of gameplay has somehow offended you, but thats it.
Believe me, I want some info to come out and prove this wrong and have it support 4 player co-op, that'd be great!

Re: Backbreaker Info Thread
How so??? I really think that this is a great move... If you think about it, Backbreaker isn't the standard footballgame. Will the media give this game a fair review?? Most likely not. They aren't going to sell 2 million copies or anything like that so If the Media will review this game with Madden in their head, Backbreaker could stand to loose a bunch of sale because of it.. I am going into this thing with a open mind.. A different experience from Madden.. So I will review based on Backbreaker alone...Comment

Re: Backbreaker Info Thread
If it's a good game it will get good reviews???
Madden gets amazing reviews and scores every year but you just need to come on here to see what bs they are. EA most likely have many reviewers in their pocket. Just my opinion but I wouldn't be to concearned by this news.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Info Thread
How you guys can justify getting more information out about the game prior to release is bad is beyond me, unless you're hoping people buy it even if it's a bad game, which is simply not going to happen.
If people have questions, it will sit on the shelf. If they don't buy it day 1, and then reviews justify their position, then they'll never buy it.
Reviews are more than the sum of their scores, they are an individuals interpretations of how good the game is. People will write 2k words on the franchise modes that we know next to nothing about and haven't seen any footage of, that's the stuff I want to read.Comment
