Yeah I agree boxboy99, it's like the game isn't out for another 3 or 4 months, not in 2 weeks.

It wasn't much, that's for sure. It took a pretty big flop to cancel 2k's best sports series IMO. Honestly, I'm excited to hear they are publicly confirming working on a second version. If this game even comes off as average to me, I'll try to convince myself to support it even though I'm a penny pincher.

Re: How will backbreaker do in sales.

APF did about 380,000 in sales with a great deal of those sales coming after drastic price cuts. Nevertheless, it far outsold NHL 2K8 and still did better than NHL 2K9, and that's taking into account that the NHL series was at the time (and still is) on more platforms.

What killed APF was all the money they spent on individual licensing with legends. They may have been able to turn a respectable profit with APF 2K9 or 10, but I honestly believe that they knew this and were simply demotivated by what happened with APF 2K8. It also didn't help that their core team had split up again and started working on other projects.

I'd have been down with APF2K9 with just generic players if it was like APF2K8 but with much better graphics and gave you some pre-made teams to use out of the box..

Yeah Watcher I should of clarified my statement with opening sales for AFP. I'm sure the numbers were much greater for sales after the game was marked down. I purchased at full price and it ended up marked down quick. The cost of singing all those players was very high. I wish they would of ditched the legends and gave us the full customization ala backbreaker. I loved APF but it felt like they held back the game. I still think the majority of players are not online players so some type of franchise mode is a must even if it is fairly basic. I am excited to see they are working on a Blackbreaker 2. It shows confidence in the product. I am thirsty for some new football and plan to show my support for Backbreaker. I think the gameplay will be decent for a first effort. My only fear is that the game will lack the depth to keep gamers interested in the first release longterm. BTW watcher I have followed over on the BB forums on and off since the game was announced and you always seem to have some good post over there.

I'm hoping it does really well. With them saying they're making BB2, it makes me think this could be the next great thing. I hope I'm right and it's not a flop. I wish APF would've put out another game and went the same route but, we got NM doing it this time.

Here's to them getting great reviews and selling a lot of games!!!

                lol.

'i don't think their sales will exceed Madden'

This game will struggle to sell 1/15th of what Madden will sell. (FYI i'm buying it).

Animations are canned in Tackle Alley.

                  I think they'll sell 250-500k units.

Agreed. I think It'll sell somewhere between those numbers.

I could only hope it would be as successful as their app for tackle alley. Hopefully the success of the app opened some eyes about the game.
