Re: Running Game adjustments Via the Editor (Results)

I am getting better running results without the editor.

All I did was make all the teams in my 8 team league 11 offence and 1 defence gold. I also made over half of them pass coverage. AND my team is rushing orientated.

I'm averaging 3.7 ypc which isn't great for my rb BUT my linemen aren't golds really. So I'm drafting the entire line to get all top notch guys which should give me almost an extra yard per touch. This worked pre-patch on hard where I had almost the exact same results. The difference was that I had teams with varying levels of golds on O and D. Now I play on medium and made everyone all offence.

I have noticed unlike the topic creator that the cpu generally gets 40 yards rushing a game and anywhere from 130-230 yards passing. It's much harder now for human or cpu runners to get to the second level. spins are not effective anymore really. and they seem to hunt you down at the sideline easier.

I'd still like them to fix it more so that we can get normal results without tinkering and yes for BB2 we need sliders. The cpu can pass great now, but they can't run worth crap really - although the OP's second game stat line was promising. In a game like this imo it's more important for the run game to be right than the pass game.

I'll also attest to the editor fix... It really works (or at least acts as a bandage for the running game until a new patch). I am now able to run (on hard) and regularly get it past scrimmage for at least 3-4 yds on avg. Also, most of the tackles are made by LB's now, which is great!

Just played a game Browns (me) vs Bills.

        Browns 20 Bills 13

Cleveland HB rushed 25 times for 100 yards.

Buffalo had 296 yards passing but kept stalling and their field goal kicker missed 2 field goals in the strong wind. They had 41 yards rushing on 15 attempts.

I really notice with these settings that the game just seems a lot slower.

I globally lowered the entire Defensive line (not linebackers though) by 30.
Just played my Raiders vs 49'ers..

Mcfadden had 26 carries for 93 yards, and I should of had some more but made a few bad cuts.

49'ers passed like crazy on me.. for 244 yards, and had 40 yards rushing.

I had 3 sacks with Seymour, and 49ers had 3 sacks as well.
          We each had 1 interception.
Very fun and balanced game.. so far so good!

            Good to hear!

Did you touch the Olines at all? And when you said you lowered the DL, did you lower ratings by 30 or lower them to 30?

i originally lowered them to 30, but Seymour was getting owned by the 49er line.. so I am pretty sure that if all the Dline was globally lowered to 30, there is no way any star player can ever stand out. you cant set everyone at the same level.

So lower by 30 points, this way at least the better players will have more impact still.

I lowered all skills of the DL by 80% and raised all the OL by 30%

                  So far so good.

I've tinkered with the ratings and have had no success improving the running game. I've been testing the game on Hard, maybe I should switch to Medium. I lowered all DT, N, DE by 35 and bumped up all OL by 10...still having a difficult time just getting to 2 ypc for a game. I'm getting frustrated. I hope they patch this because I'm not sure I can deal with this. Loved the running game pre-patch and had issues with the passing game due to the Int's....now it's reversed. I don't know, what tweaks have you guys had success with? Anyone approaching 4 ypc?

I am having some success with the running game after lowering the D-Line by 30 , but against bad teams I really have all day to pass.. need to tweak some more..

With my adjustments I just had a game where Steven Jackson ran for 129 yds on 25 attempts. Averaging 5.2 a carry, maybe a little too much but Steven Jackson is a stud. He also had one fumble and three touchdowns!

Sam Bradford was 11 for 15 with 172 yards and 2 ints (one was me throwing into triple coverage, whoops! and the other was a tipped pass at the goal line). I wasn't sacked once and never really felt too rushed, so maybe I need a few slight tweaks.

I seem to have some luck by making Gold players silve and silver into bronze along with lowering speed and strength of the DL and LBers. I'll elaborate later it's getting late. This plays pretty realistic for me so far.
