Dont let this guy fool you. If you know how to manuever the controls, you should be able to run with any team. You dont need specific rosters or highly ranked players to demonstrate a desent run game. Its all in the controls. xbox gt ICANNEXQUESTION

The best roster file...Anyone can edit the names numbers and skin tone, the ratings are nerfed due to the greathouse patch.

the difference in being able to run and not being able is settings on pro/hard vs custom/hard. If you play on custom/hard you will not be able to run and your receivers will drop the ball when they get hit. On pro/hard you can run just like you see in the video and your receivers will catch alot more balls. Figured this out awhile ago...thought everyone had by now.

this needs to be put into a new thread and stickied.

first : seriously? THIS is what fixes the game?

I'm really hoping this isn't placebo, but playing with a random "smashmouth" offensive team vs a weak defense I just ran it up the gut for 40 yards after 7 plays. Nothing fancy with running, a juke if someone was in front of me, but the mad lineman rush for running plays was non-existent.

After further testing running the ball is definitely "fixed" by using Hard/Pro. I was bouncing off blockers and breaking tackles, but more importantly getting to the line before getting hit (when they blitzed I nearly always lost yardage). Passing is still the same though, hit while in the receiving animation = dropped pass unless you do the Protect Ball cheese.

right under our noses all this time.

jaosming, what other secrets in life are you withholding from us?

but seriously,I don't know if it is consistently true....besides running the ball should be one of the hardest aspects of a football game, imo. So even if it works here and there...and is not consistent, I'M ALL FOR IT!

can't wait to try it out.

anyone else giving it a try?

                    Re: Backbreaker is back

I just finished trying it out and I can too say there is a difference on pro/hard! Continuing on what jaosming has stated, I too seen and felt a difference in my players momentum. While running I consistently felt that my guy was running hard and was always falling forward when need be. Unlike on custom when I felt like no matter how much steam I had built up, a defender would always seem to have more force and push me back 5 yards when he tackled me.

Same goes for defense as well. I was actually hitting RB's and WR's backwards instead of them just shrugging me off and bouncing off me like a pinball machine.

I also even had a couple plays where the dreaded, "pulling guard/tackle" cleared a hole for me! Even the CPU defensive tackle wasn't getting in the backfield as soon as the ball was snapped.

So far I agree, definitely a difference!

To give a visual aid of what I wrote, these kind of runs are possible again.

(I recorded this from the demo.)

How can I change those settings in my RtBB mode? I think I defaulted to Pro but turned off any visual aid possible (including the kicking meter). Does that make it custom as a result?

yea it does change it to custom, which peeved me since Im ~10 games away from being done with RTBB

to change it, i think we'd need to hex edit, but I dont know if its possible to change the settings like that

What you mean done with RtBB? How many seasons does it last?

As for changing settings, cant you just change it on the options menu inside the RtBB? I change quarter length all the time and Im pretty sure you can change difficulty there too.

Why do you call that cheese? Your not the first I have heard say that but I am curious why?

well, the minimum is 3 seasons, I just want the achievement so technically it doesn't end at 3

its cheese IMO because the receiver will always catch the ball, no matter how hard he gets hit

Correction: He will always hold onto the ball if he catches it. I've had a fair number of times where my receiver has not caught the ball, but whether or not he is hit is irrelevant to him dropping it.
